In particular, the apparatus is suitable to be used to diagnose faults and control industrial steel plants and processes that use a large number of detectors, and comprises a plurality of processing units and a central process unit. The invention also concerns a diagnostic algorithm able to be executed by a monitoring apparatus according to the invention and a method and a monitoring apparatus according to the invention.
