Abstract

The present invention relates to a repeatable fuse for high current. The repeatable fuse includes: a housing provided with an inner space and a first lead terminal disposed on one side surface of the housing; a second lead terminal disposed on the side surface of the housing, wherein the second lead terminal is spaced from the first lead terminal; a movable contact plate disposed within the housing and electrically short-circuited with the housing, wherein the movable contact plate is electrically switched on-off with the first lead terminal or the first and second lead terminals; main and bias springs disposed within the housing, wherein the main and bias spring electrically switch on-off the first lead terminal and the movable contact plate or the first and second lead terminals and the movable contact plate; and a positive temperature coefficient thermistor inserted into the housing, wherein the positive temperature coefficient thermistor is electrically connected to the first and second lead terminals. The positive temperature coefficient thermistor includes a positive temperature coefficient device in which electric resistance increases at a temperature greater than a special critical temperature. The movable contact plate may be linked with the tension forces of the main spring and bias spring. That is, the movable contact plate may be linked to move in the direction in which the main spring and the bias spring are extended or compressed, thereby being electrically connected to or short-circuited with the first lead terminal or the first and second lead terminals.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a repeatable fuse having an over-current prevention function, in which an electric resistance of a positive temperature coefficient thermistor increases and a main spring extends when over-current higher than a reference level is applied to increase the temperature of the fuse to a level higher than a specific threshold temperature level, and a spindle moves toward the other side of a housing by the tensile force of the main spring and thus is electrically disconnected from a first lead terminal so as to continuously prevent a current flow between a second lead terminal and the first lead terminal. When the over-current is prevented, the positive temperature coefficient thermistor is cooled and the tensile force of the main spring decreases, thus the spindle moves toward one side of the housing and thus is electrically connected to the first lead terminal, thereby returning to a normal state.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a repeatable fuse, and more particularly to a repeatable fuse with high reliability which protects against overheating and prevents overcurrent from flowing into a circuit by using an elastic member. The repeatable fuse according to the present invention includes: a housing having an internal space; a first lead terminal disposed at one side of the housing; a second lead terminal insulated from the housing and disposed at the other side of the housing; a spindle electrically disposed inside the housing to be electrically connected to the first lead terminal and disconnected from the second lead terminal; an elastic member installed inside the housing, wherein the elastic member is connected to the spindle and disconnects the spindle from the second lead terminal; and a separation preventing groove disposed inside the housing and preventing the separation of the elastic member by allowing a portion of the elastic member to be seated thereon. According to embodiments of the present invention, it is possible to prevent the elastic member from straying from the original position or being wobbled during stretching or compressing of the elastic member. This can provide a highly reliable fuse which is stably connected or disconnected. Also, the embodiments of the present invention can provide a repeatable fuse maintaining its operating characteristic during repeated use, and decrease contact resistance to allow power consumption to be reduced in a normal operating state, not an overheating or overcurrent state.
