Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to make the best use of water resources, and the technology described uses data collected through sensors integrated into the hydraulic turbine which measure the dynamic differential pressure and the power in the electric generator, so as to feed a control system which allows calculation of an index which indicates the optimal efficiency of the turbine-generator set in real time, based on an adaptation of the Winter-Kennedy equation, without measuring flow or reduced model data or field efficiency measurements.
