Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an insect, bacteria, and/or fungi control composition that includes a carrier oil and two or more essential oils for effectively controlling and/or killing insects, bacteria, and/or fungi. Some insect, bacteria, and/or fungi control compositions comprise castor oil; a first oil selected from the group consisting of rosemary oil, thyme oil, clove oil, garlic oil, geraniol, peppermint oil, and cinnamon oil; and a second oil selected from the group consisting of rosemary oil, thyme oil, clove oil, garlic oil, geraniol, peppermint oil, and cinnamon oil, wherein in the first oil is different from the second oil. Compositions according to the present disclosure kill insects at multiple stages in their life cycle including adult insects, larvae, and disrupt the egg cycle. The insect, bacteria, and/or fungi control compositions can effectively control insect, bacteria, and/or fungi and retain control and/or insecticidal, bactericidal, and/or fungicidal potency over a longer period of time than other natural insect, bacteria, and/or fungi control agents.

Abstract

This disclosure relates to bird-deterrent compositions and methods of using the same in deterring a bird from ingesting lethal doses of a pesticide- treated substance, such as a pesticide-treated plant seed. The bird-deterrent compositions comprise a bird repellent and/or a visual cue agent. Pesticide- treated substance that have been treated with the bird-deterrent compositions will prevent bird from ingesting lethal doses of the pesticide-treated substance, while not deterring the birds from ingesting non-lethal doses of the same pesticide-treated substances.

Abstract

The combination of a repellent agent or an attractant agent with a wavelength-specific visual cue agent has been found to produce an unexpected and synergistic effect of increased repellency or attraction in dichromatic animals who are not maximally sensitive to the wavelength of the repellent or attractant agent. The method of the invention may be used to repel dichromatic-animal pests; or to prevent or minimize monetary damage, particularly to agricultural products, natural resources or private property. The method of the invention may also be used to attract dichromatic animals for the purpose of agricultural production, recreational opportunities (e.g., wild-rodent feeders), or the effective administration of target-animal pharmaceuticals or mitigation techniques.

Abstract

In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a method for preventing or treating necrotic enteritis by administering a hyperimmunized egg product obtained from an egg-producing animal to an avian. The hyperimmunized egg product may contain an antibody specific to an antigen selected from the group consisting of Clostridium perfringens α-toxin, Clostridium perfringens elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu), Clostridium perfringens necrotic enteritis B-like (NetB) toxin, Clostridium perfringens Pyruvate: Ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFO), and Eimeria tenella elongation factor 1-alpha.

Abstract

In one aspect, the present invention is directed to an animal feed composition that is resistant to feeding by birds, the composition comprising a feed pellet and one or more additional animal feed ingredients that is not pelletized. The feed pellet has a higher lipid content (w/w) and a higher starch content (w/w) than each of the one or more additional animal feed ingredients that is not pelletized. The invention also relates to methods for preparing and using the animal feed compositions.

Abstract

The invention relates to the use of a persistent, weatherable blend of a bird repellent and a paint coating composition on exterior surfaces such as wood or building materials, to deter birds from damaging such wood or building material. The bird repellent blend has improved weatherability while retaining the effectiveness of the bird repellent.
