Provided is a content providing system which comprises a client terminal and a server and provides content on the basis of a use situation of the client terminal. The client terminal comprises a client control unit and a display unit. The server comprises a client terminal management unit, a content recording unit, a content management unit, a content distribution control unit, and a distribution condition management unit. The client control unit secures a content frame on the basis of a distribution condition notified from the distribution condition management unit and sends a distribution request of content to the content distribution control unit. The content distribution control unit extracts and distributes content from the content recording unit. The client control unit displays the content distributed by the content distribution control unit in the display unit within the content frame.

A control apparatus, if not requesting the controlled apparatus to modify the state thereof, returns the state information to the controlled apparatus upon receiving the state information from the controlled apparatus, and if requesting the controlled apparatus to modify the state thereof, modifies state parameters, which correspond to the state to be modified among the state information, to required values and transmits the state information after modification as a control instruction to the controlled apparatus. The controlled apparatus, upon receiving the control instruction from the control apparatus, modifies the state to be the modified state according to the state parameters after modification and transmits the state information indicating the state after modification to the control apparatus.
