Abstract

A readiness-to-fire sensor (100) includes a case (110), an interface (120), and a probe (130). configured to be installed on a receiver (50) of a selective-fire firearm (20) that has a selector (70). The case is configured to be installed on a receiver (50) of a selective-fire firearm (20). The interface is configured to interface with an electrical accessory (80) for the firearm. The probe is operatively coupled to the interface, and is mounted in a manner in which installation of the case on the receiver engages the probe with the selector in a manner in which the probe moves responsively to rotation of the selector such that, in a first firing mode and a second firing mode of the firearm, but not in a safe mode of the firearm, the sensor activates the electrical accessory via the interface.
