Abstract

The present invention relates to the formation of an organoid derived from colorectal cancer or sarcoma patient cells. In the present invention, it was confirmed that, when gelatin is used as an alternative material to a basement membrane extract (BME), compared to when a conventional BME is used, the formation of an organoid is more promoted, cancer indicator-related marker expression is more promoted, and structural stability is more improved, and it was also confirmed that metabolic activity is improved on the basis that oxygen consumption of the organoid increases. In addition, a medium for organoid formation of the present invention is more economical than a BME in terms of cost and organoid formation period. Limitations occurring in reproducing biological characteristics of a tumor in a colorectal cancer cell line and sarcoma patient-derived cells may be compensated for through a medium composition utilizing gelatin of the present invention, thereby enabling the provision of a physiologically similar model, and thus the present invention may be utilized in the future as a platform that is useful for preclinical research, diagnosis, and treatment evaluation.

The present invention relates to: a support for culturing corneal cells, the support comprising graphene; and a use thereof. Abstract

The present invention relates to the use of corneal cell-derived mitochondria for preventing or treating corneal damage or corneal endothelial cell diseases. Mitochondria isolated from corneal endothelial cells differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), of the present invention, were confirmed to alleviate inflammatory responses of corneal endothelial cells in an inflammatory environment, restore the integrity and function of corneal endothelial cells, inhibit inflammatory responses, particularly inflammation caused by physical damage, upon delivery into xenogeneic primary corneal endothelial cells, and promote the regeneration of corneal endothelial cells. Therefore, mitochondria having these effects can overcome the oncogenic limitations of conventional stem cell therapeutic agents, and are widely applicable and exhibit excellent cost efficiency due to their ease of production and fewer regulations.

The present invention relates to a biomarker for prognostic prediction for sepsis, and use thereof. By evaluating the proteomic profile of sepsis patients by using SWATH-MS-based proteomics, PF4, CXCL7, ACTB, FINC, and TIMP1 were respectively identified as novel biomarkers for distinguishing the severity of sepsis and predicting outcomes of sepsis patients in the ICU, and, due to having excellent prognostic predictive performance for sepsis, are expected to be useful for prognostic predictive use and diagnostic use for sepsis, and the like.

The corneal endothelial transplantation device comprises: a balloon in which an expandable/contractible space is formed; and a catheter which provides a fluid for expanding the expandable/contractible space to the balloon. The present invention relates to a composition and method capable of effectively predicting the therapeutic responsiveness of a subject to an antibody therapeutic agent for asthma, using blood EDN levels or urine EDN levels. In particular, the present invention can significantly increase the efficiency of predicting therapeutic responsiveness by configuring, as appropriate parameters, blood and urine EDN levels together with the number of blood eosinophils that were conventionally used to predict therapeutic responsiveness to antibody therapeutic agents for asthma. Therefore, the present invention can be usefully utilized for predicting the therapeutic responsiveness of a subject to various antibody therapeutic agents for asthma, such as mepolyizumab, resluzumab, and dupilumab.

The present disclosure relates to an antibody binding to CD22, a bispecific antibody including the same, a chimeric antigen receptor, an antibody-drug conjugate, and uses thereof. The present invention relates to an exosome-derived miRNA biomarker isolated from duodenal pancreatic juice for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and uses thereof. More specifically, the present invention includes a miRNA biomarker capable of diagnosing pancreatic cancer, a composition for diagnosing pancreatic cancer using same, and a method for providing diagnostic information for pancreatic cancer using same. Provided are exosome-derived microRNA biomarkers isolated from duodenal-pancreatic fluid for diagnosing pancreatic cancer, and uses thereof. Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a transplantable cell therapy product composition for diabetes mellitus that contains an aggregate of insulin-secreting cells derived from stem cells. In the present disclosure, an NF microwell array membrane was fabricated by applying a molding process to an electrospun, permeable, biodegradable polycaprolactone (PCL) NF membrane and thus allows gases and soluble factors to permeate therethrough. The NF microwell of the present disclosure could provide more nutrients to the iPSC aggregates than conventional impermeable PDMS microwells, thus enhancing survival and differentiation capabilities of the cells. Additionally, the NF membrane was attached singly to the subcutaneous tissue and to the surface of organs such as liver and peritoneum without the need for a fixing material or separate sutures and was integrated with surrounding tissues, resulting in higher insulin secretion than PDMS microwells. Therefore, the present disclosure can be effectively utilized as a composition for the prevention or treatment of diabetes.

The present invention relates to an RNA-based method for predicting the occurrence of immune-related adverse events induced by cancer immunotherapy. As a result of analyzing various factors related to the occurrence of immune-related adverse events induced by cancer immunotherapy in the present invention, it was confirmed that a gene expression-based neutrophil score or immune cell profile is closely associated with the occurrence of immune-related adverse events. Therefore, the neutrophil score or immune cell profile is expected to be effectively used as a biomarker for predicting the occurrence of an immune-related adverse event induced by cancer immunotherapy or efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. In addition, the present invention relates to an RNA-based method for predicting efficacy of cancer immunotherapy. As a result of analyzing various factors related to efficacy to cancer immunotherapy in the present invention, it was confirmed that a gene expression-based tumor necrosis factor (TNF) score or immune cell profile is closely associated with efficacy. Abstract

A composition for detecting ICAM1 protein comprising the anti-ICAM1 antibody of the present invention can selectively detect the protein by recognizing the N-glycan of ICAM1 that is cancer cell-specifically modified. The composition for detecting ICAM1 protein comprising an anti-ICAM1 antibody according to the present invention can selectively detect the corresponding protein by recognizing the N-glycan of ICAM1 that is cancer cell-specifically modified. In particular, the anti-ICAM1 antibody contained in the composition specifically recognizes and binds to a structure in which sialic acid residues at the N-glycan terminal linked to the N130 asparagine residue of ICAM1 are reduced or deficient, that is, a hyposialylated glycosylation pattern. By targeting a glycosylation pattern appearing only in cancer cells, the antibody provides high therapeutic stability due to low non-specific binding to normal cells. Accordingly, the present invention offers an anti-ICAM1 antibody that precisely targets a cancer-specific glycan pattern and a novel immune-oncology therapeutic strategy based thereon, thereby overcoming limitations of existing anticancer agents and providing enhanced cancer treatment effects.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an antibody that specifically binds to β2-microglobulin (β2m) and to uses thereof, in which the antibody specifically binds to free β2m protein that has dissociated from MHCI. The antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof binds to both the monomer and amyloid forms of β2m, and can detect the monomer and amyloid forms of free β2m in body fluids of dementia and kidney-disease animal models, and thus is useful as an antibody for diagnosing these diseases. In addition, the antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof protects damage to cognitive functions induced by β2m in normal mice, and exhibits: reduced amyloid beta and inflammation in the brain after intraperitoneal administration to a dementia mouse model; reduced renal fibrosis and biomarkers in a renal fibrotic disease animal model; and reduced liver fibrosis in a liver fibrotic disease animal model, and thus is useful for preventing and/or treating these diseases.

Abstract

Genetic markers and a method for the diagnosis or prognosis of degenerative temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis. The method involved detection of a mutation of one or both of SMARCA2 and NOTCH1 or a mutant protein encoded thereby. The detection can be determined from a biological sample, such as saliva, which can be obtained by a non-invasive method. The method involves a random forest-based deep & wide model that is constructed by a machine learning (deep learning) method taken together with the genetic marker mutation information and has excellent diagnostic and predictive abilities with an accuracy of 97%.

The present invention relates to: a method for differentiating stem cell-derived hepatocytes by using fasudil and gelatin; and the like. The method for differentiating stem cell-derived hepatocytes, according to the present invention, induces, by means of fasudil, the differentiation of stem cells into endoderm in an early stage of differentiation of stem cells into hepatocytes, inhibits lipid droplet formation through high-viscosity gelatin coating of a culture container, activates mitochondrial functions, up-regulates the expression of endoderm genes, and down-regulates the expression of ectoderm and mesoderm genes, thereby improving the efficiency of differentiation of stem cells into hepatoblasts. In addition, low-viscosity gelatin is added to the medium in a differentiation and maturation (late) stage so as to suppress the accumulation of lipid droplets, mitochondria are activated to improve the efficiency of differentiation of hepatoblasts into hepatocytes, and the function of differentiated hepatocytes is enhanced to improve the efficiency of differentiation of stem cells into hepatocytes. Therefore, hepatocytes obtained using the method are expected to be effectively used as a cell therapeutic agent, a transplant, and the like for treating liver diseases.

The present invention relates to a method for paper-based innovative nucleic acid extraction without centrifugation (PINE-CX) and a method for detecting nucleic acids in a sample using same. The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for refining bio-signal artifacts and, more specifically, comprises: a database in which bio-signals are stored; an extraction unit for extracting only clean signals from among the bio-signals; an augmentation unit for generating augmented artifacts by augmenting the clean signals; a storage unit for storing the clean signals and the augmented artifacts; a training unit for training a refining model by using a dataset generated on the basis of the augmented artifacts; and a refining unit for refining artifacts of the bio-signals by using the refining model, wherein previously unusable data is refined and converted into useful information, and thus the range of use of data can be widened, and both the quality and amount of clinical data can be improved by reducing data loss.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for providing information for the diagnosis and/or prognosis of aortic valve stenosis, and was arrived at by discovering that an increase in anti-citrullinated peptide antibody levels is associated with the onset and prognosis of aortic valve stenosis. The present inventors discovered that the accurate early diagnosis of aortic valve stenosis is possible through measuring anti-citrullinated peptide antibody levels, and the degree of aortic valve deformity, severity, and probability of complications such as hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, and interstitial lung disease can be predicted, and thus the anti-citrullinated peptide antibody is expected to be used as a biomarker for more effective diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of aortic valve stenosis.

An RF catheter for treating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy includes: a body part constituting a catheter body made of a flexible and soft material; and an intraseptal insertion part provided at a distal part of the body part and having one or more electrodes, a tapered tip gradually becoming thinner toward an end thereof, and a guidewire lumen therein, into which a guidewire is inserted, so that during hypertrophic cardiomyopathy treatment, the intraseptal insertion part is inserted into the interventricular septum along the guidewire. A method of treating hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by using an RF ablation catheter includes: i) positioning the guidewire to a hypertrophied septum through a coronary sinus and a septal vein; ii) transferring the RF ablation catheter to the hypertrophied septum; and iii) performing RF ablation by applying RF energy to the electrodes provided at an end part of the RF ablation catheter by using an RF generator.

The artificial structure includes a first sheet and a second sheet arranged on the first sheet and including at least two channels. The present invention demonstrates the functional enhancement of melatonin-primed stem cells through ten indicators including self-renewal ability, engraftment rate, anti-inflammatory ability, and immunosuppressive ability in a cell culture model. It has been identified that in the primed stem cells according to the present invention, the activity of glutathione (GSH) is increased, through signaling involving cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) response element-binding protein-1 (CREB1) and nuclear factor (erythroid-derived-2) like-2 (NRF2) as a molecular mechanism and, simultaneously, the expression of PD-L1 protein is increased by JAK1-STAT3 signaling. The stem cells primed according to the present invention have improved stemness, and thus can be effectively used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases, immune diseases and the like.

Abstract

An embodiment of the present invention provides an automated angiography system comprising: a catheter unit including a catheter and a connector coupled to the catheter and through which a guidewire passes; a contrast medium injection unit for injecting a contrast medium into the catheter unit; a driving unit for controlling movements of the catheter and the guidewire; an image information acquisition unit for acquiring image information about a region of interest into which the contrast medium is injected; and a control unit for controlling the driving unit to control the movements of the catheter or the guidewire by using the image information or controlling the contrast medium injection unit to adjust an injection speed and the amount of the contrast medium.

Abstract

According to an aspect, a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of an intraretinal angiogenic disease, which contains vascular endothelial cells exhibiting reduced expression or activity of beta-2 microglobulin (B2M) and increased expression or activity of tyrosine kinase receptor 2 (Tie2) compared to parent cells, as an active ingredient, induces stabilization of vascular endothelial cells and reduces vascular permeability even in a state of inflammation or over-expression of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF), so as to slow down or inhibit intraretinal angiogenesis, thereby preventing or treating an intraretinal angiogenic disease. In addition, since the cells of the present invention survives for a long period due to low immunogenicity, the effect of inhibiting angiogenesis lasts for a long period after a single intraocular injection, and thus the present invention allows the treatment to proceed less invasively compared to conventional antibody therapies, enhances vascular stability, and enables early diagnosis and treatment of an intraretinal angiogenic disease.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a composition for diagnosing or predicting the prognosis of solid cancer (for example, lung cancer). In the present invention, association between the onset of solid cancer and an increase in the expression level of USE1 is identified, and an aptamer sequence capable of detecting USE1 with high specificity is provided. If the aptamer of the present invention is used, solid cancer can be rapidly and simply diagnosed in a non-invasive manner by detecting USE1 with high specificity.

Abstract

A biomarker composition for predicting susceptibility to a therapeutic agent for neurofibromatosis by using Ras activity; and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating neurofibromatosis, including a Ras activity inhibitor. The biomarker composition can accurately diagnose susceptibility to a therapeutic agent for neurofibromatosis by measuring the expression levels of a GTP-bound and activated Ras (Ras-GTP) protein and an activated p-ERK protein or a gene encoding the same in a biological sample of an individual. The pharmaceutical composition inhibits the activity of Ras proteins, and thus can be effectively used for the prevention or treatment of neurofibromatosis in which the activity of the Ras proteins is increased.
