The tool being made from a material which retains its shape at a temperature when the material of the mouthguard is ductile and susceptible to remoulding. By placing the mouthguard and tool together in the mouth of the user the thinning of the depth of the base of the mouthguard can be minimised whilst still enabling shaping of the mouthguard.
