Abstract
The invention relates to a tensioning device of a strapping device for strapping packaged material with a strapping strip, in particular with a plastic strapping strip, said device being provided with a tensioning wheel which is operatively connected to or can be operatively connected to a drive device in order to rotate the tensioning wheel about a rotational axis, said tensioning wheel being provided with a circumferential surface which is designed to engage into the strapping strip. The tensioning device is to be improved such that disadvantages occurring due to the relative speed between the tensioning wheel and the strip during the strip retraction phase are prevented as much as possible. This is achieved in that at least one movable spacer is provided on the tensioning wheel in the region of the circumferential surface of the tensioning wheel, said spacer being arrangeable in a first position and in a second position different from the first position. In the first position, the spacer can be arranged at a first distance to the rotational axis of the tensioning wheel at least in some regions with respect to a circumferential direction of the tensioning unit and at a second distance to the rotational axis of the tensioning wheel at least in some sections in the second position. The first distance differs from the second distance, and the spacer projects beyond the circumferential surface of the tensioning wheel in at least one of the two positions.

Abstract
The invention relates to a strapping head or to a strapping device or to a strapping apparatus for strapping packaged goods by means of a strapping strip, in particular by means of a plastic strapping strip, which is provided with a feeding and tensioning device which has a plurality of wheels for transmitting a feed movement, reverse pull movement and tensioning movement to the strapping strip, wherein at least one of said wheels is or can be operatively connected to a drive device in order to set the at least one of the wheels moving rotationally about an axis of rotation for the feed movement, reverse pull movement and tensioning movement. The problem addressed by the invention is that of improving said strapping head, strapping device or strapping apparatus to the effect that the functional reliability of the strapping head is improved with regard to a possible formation of waves in the strip after the formation of a strip loop by a strip feed movement. This problem is solved by a means that can be actuated, by means of which at least one wheel of a wheel pair of the feed device can be switched to a state in which the strapping strip can be displaced between the wheel pair in a direction opposed to the strip feed movement without transferring any motor drive movement to the strapping strip.

Abstract
The invention relates to a strapping apparatus of a strapping device for strapping packed goods by means of a strap, in particular a plastic strap, which strapping apparatus is provided with a strap-advancing apparatus for advancing the strap during the formation of a strap loop, a strap-retracting apparatus for retracting the strap after the strap loop has been formed in order to bring the strap in contact with the packed goods, and a tensioning apparatus, by means of which a strap tension of the strap lying against the packed goods can be increased. The problem addressed by the invention is improving said strapping apparatus to the effect that the strapping head can be made as compact as possible. This problem is solved in that only one common motor is proposed for driving the rollers, which are rotationally motor-driven in the strap-advancing apparatus, the strap-retracting apparatus, and the tensioning apparatus.

Abstract
The invention relates to a strapping head or to a strapping apparatus of a strapping device for strapping packed goods by means of a strap, in particular by means of a plastic strap, which strapping head or strapping apparatus is provided with an advancing apparatus and tensioning apparatus having a plurality of wheels for transferring an advancing, retracting, and tensioning motion to the strap, wherein at least one of said wheels is or can be operatively connected to a driving apparatus in order to cause the at least one of the wheels to rotate about an axis of rotation for the advancing, retracting, and tensioning motion. The problem addressed by the invention is that of improving said strapping head or strapping apparatus to the effect that the strapping head can be made as compact as possible. This problem is solved in that, in total, at most three rollers are provided on the strapping head for contact with the strap during the performance of the advancing, retracting, and tensioning motion, which rollers come in contact with the strap in connection with these functions, wherein the at most three rollers can be brought in contact with the strap in pairs on both sides of the strap in different combinations with each other.

Abstract
The invention relates to a strapping arrangement (1) which is intended for strapping articles using a strapping band and has a tensioning device (6) for applying tensioning to a loop of a strapping band, wherein the tensioning device (6, 86) is provided with a tensioning wheel (7, 87) which can be driven in rotation about a tensioning axis and is provided for engaging in the strapping band, the tensioning device (6, 86) also has a tensioning plate (9, 89), wherein, during a tensioning operation carried out by the tensioning device, provision is made for a strapping-band portion with one or more layers to be located between the tensioning wheel (7, 87) and the tensioning plate (9, 89) and to be in contact both with the tensioning wheel (7, 87) and with the tensioning plate (9, 89), in addition the tensioning wheel and/or the tensioning plate are/is arranged on a rocker (8, 80), which can be pivoted by motor about a rocker axis (8a), in order for a pivoting movement of the rocker (8, 80) either to increase or to decrease a distance between the tensioning wheel (7, 87) and the tensioning plate, and have/has a connecting device in order to establish a permanent connection at two regions of the loop of the strapping band which are located one above the other. In order to create a high level of functional reliability for such a strapping arrangement (1), so that the envisaged tensioning can be applied reliably, and as far as possible without slippage, to the band, the invention proposes an operable actuating device of the strapping arrangement which is provided with a button/switch which allows a switching state of a gear mechanism of the strapping arrangement to be altered such that a drive movement of the drive device results either in the tensioning wheel rotating or in the rocker (8, 80) pivoting.

Abstract
A strapping device (1), in particular a mobile strapping device, for strapping packaged goods with a wrap-around strap, comprising a tensioner (6) for applying a strap tension to a loop of a wrapping strap, said tensioner comprising a rotationally drivable tensioning wheel (7) and a tensioning rocker (8) that pivots relative to the tensioning wheel and cooperates with the tensioning wheel, wherein a tensioning plate (12) is disposed at the tensioning rocker for applying a wrapping strap, and a wherein a distance between the tensioning plate and the tensioning wheel can be varied for applying a tension on the strap, said tensioner also comprising a connector, in particular a welding connector (10) such as a friction welder, for producing a connection in two areas of the loop of the wrapping strap located one on top of the other, is intended to exhibit largely consistent tensioning characteristics even with different strap thicknesses. To this end, means are proposed for the strapping device that provide for the variability of the relative position of the tensioning plate relative to the tensioning wheel in addition to the pivotability of the tensioning rocker.
