Abstract

A percutaneous ostomy implant for implantation into the abdominal wall of a patient is provided, which includes a connecting member for mounting an external detachable device thereto; a first tubular ingrowth member depending from the connecting member; and a second tubular ingrowth member depending from the connecting member and being radially outwardly spaced from the first tubular ingrowth member. The first tubular ingrowth member is configured and dimensioned to receive a bowel segment within it to allow the stoma and serosal tissue of that bowel segment to infiltrate the first tubular ingrowth member. The second tubular member is configured and dimensioned to abut dermal tissue to allow the dermal tissue to infiltrate the second tubular ingrowth member, thereby securing and sealing the ostomy implant to the dermis.

Abstract

A percutaneous ostomy implant for implantation into the abdominal wall of a patient comprises: a connecting member for mounting an external detachable device thereto; a first tubular ingrowth member depending from the connecting member; and a second tubular ingrowth member depending from the connecting member and being radially outwardly spaced from the first tubular ingrowth member. The first tubular ingrowth member is adapted to receive a bowel segment within it to form a stoma and serosal tissue of that bowel segment may infiltrate the first tubular ingrowth member. The second tubular member is adapted to abut dermal tissue such that the dermal tissue may infiltrate the second tubular ingrowth member, thereby securing and sealing the ostomy implant to the dermis.

Abstract

A medical closure device serves for coupling to a discharge opening of a device protruding from a mammalian body. The medical closure device includes a coupling part for engaging a part of the device protruding from the mammalian body. The coupling part is a circumferential flexible member delimiting a coupling opening configurable between a relaxed configuration where the coupling opening cannot pass over the medical device and a stressed configuration where the coupling opening of the coupling part can pass over the medical device. The coupling part has a securing member for securing the coupling part to a closure part, such as a cap, an ostomy bag, a catheter, or an irrigation device, for subsequent closure of a discharge opening.

Abstract

A percutaneous ostomy implant for implantation into the abdominal wall of a patient. The implant has a cylindrical part for mounting an external detachable device thereto, an ingrowth mesh and a circular flange for anchoring the implant. The cylindrical part and circular flange are attached to opposite ends of the ingrowth mesh. The ingrowth mesh is arranged such that when the implant is implanted in the abdominal wall of a patient, the epidermis meets the ingrowth mesh and is able to attach therethrough directly to serosal tissue of a bowel segment inside the implant.

Abstract

An implantable device (1) consists of the following main components: a hollow, tubular body penetrating structure (2), a rigid porous tubular mesh (3), a base portion (4) in the form of a flange, and a sealing ring (5). The hollow, tubular body penetrating structure (2) has an axial main body (6) with a free end (7) provided with a collar (8) and an opposite end (9) connected to the base portion (4). The tubular body penetrating structure (2) has an internal passageway (10) for allowing introduction and passage of an object, which is to be put in communication with another object or organ inside the body. The sealing ring (5) fits into the internal passageway (10) of the axial main body (6) to provide sealing against the inserted object when required. The rigid porous tubular mesh (3) has a pattern (11) composed of a plurality of hexagonal mesh apertures (12) evenly distributed between a first coupling end (13) and a second coupling end (14), which coupling ends in the present embodiment terminate in respective solid coupling rings (16, 17).

Abstract

An implant for percutaneous implantation through the abdominal wall for encircling and engaging an externalized length of a body duct of a human or animal patient. The implant has an exterior tubular section defined by an circumferential exterior wall at least a part of which is adapted to protrude outwardly from the abdominal wall with a free end for mounting of a detachable device, an interior section defined by an circumferential interior wall adapted to extend through the abdominal wall and inside the patient for internal fixation of the implant, wherein the exterior tubular section and the interior section have a common axis A. The circumferential exterior wall of the exterior tubular section and the circumferential interior wall of the interior section are arranged axially spaced apart at a distance D from each other to provide an axial gap between opposing free ends of the exterior tubular section and the interior section, with the exterior tubular section and interior section being connected inside the sections.

Abstract

A medical closure device (1; 22) serves for coupling to a discharge opening of a device (34) protruding from a mammalian body. The medical closure device (1; 22) comprises a coupling part (2; 24) for engaging a part of the device protruding from the mammalian body. The coupling part (2; 24) is a circumferential flexible member (5; 25) delimiting a coupling opening (6; 26) configurable between a relaxed configuration where the coupling opening (6; 26) cannot pass over the medical device (34) and a stressed configuration where the coupling opening (6; 26) of the coupling part (2; 24) can pass over the medical device (34). The coupling part (2; 24) has securing means (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d; 27a, 27b) for securing the coupling part to a closure part (3; 23), such as a cap, an ostomy bag, a catheter, or an irrigation device, for subsequent closure of a discharge opening.
