METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACCESSING DATA TRAFFIC IN A CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK
A method manages data traffic in a vehicle controller area network having a plurality of functional modules. To that end, the method and apparatus passively receive data messages transmitted across the controller area network. The data messages are formatted in one of a plurality of proprietary protocols. Next, the method determines the protocol of the data messages. The determined protocol is one of the plurality of proprietary protocols. After determining the protocol, protocol logic translates the data messages (transmitted across the controller area network) from the determined protocol to a given protocol. The protocol logic is configured to translate the data messages from any of the plurality of proprietary protocols into the given protocol. The method then transmits the data messages, in the given protocol, onto the controller area network for use by at least one of the functional modules.
The muffler for a motorized vehicle includes a housing with an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber, an exhaust inlet, and an exhaust outlet. The muffler includes a first channel with a first noise dampening amount that is within the housing interior, to fluidly connect the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The muffler includes second channel with a second noise dampening amount that is within the housing interior between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The first noise dampening amount is greater than the second noise dampening amount. A valve selectively fluidly connects the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber thorough the second channel, and is configured to variably obstruct the flow of exhaust gas through the second channel. A fυel system and method of controlling the fuel system in an engine using a liquid propane fuel wherein a fluid pressure control module (11) having a housing (12) and plurality of solenoids (20) are provided for venting the fuel pressure in the fuel rails of the fuel system after shut down of the vehicle to reduce fuel leakage from the fuel injectors and fuel rail by having a fuel bleed (2OB) solenoid vent the fuel pressure in the fuel rail to an evaporative emissions canister, while other solenoids (2OR, 2OF and 20S) are shut, to further eliminate evaporative fuel emissions from the vehicle during engine shut down.
