Such shields can comprise a walled structure surrounding and creating an open-ended enclosure with the shield comprising an above the ground portion and a below the ground portion. The shield may comprises a Biodegradable Plastic that includes plant nutrients within the Biodegradable Plastic. The above the ground portion and the below the ground portion can be divided from one another by a divider that extends along an external surface of the walled structure in a similar direction as the walled structure surrounds the enclosure, the divider element comprising a ground engagement surface for limiting insertion of the shield into the soil.
