CLAMP FOR A DUPLICATING MACHINE FOR BITTED AND DOUBLE-BITTED KEYS PROVIDED WITH A COLLAR ON THE SHANK
A clamp (2, 2') for a duplicating machine for bitted and double-bitted keys provided with a collar (16) on the shank (14). The clamp has jaws (10, 10') for clamping the key (6, 6') and further comprises a locator element (26) of adjustable position such that, when a key (6, 6') is clamped between the jaws (10, 10'), the collar (16) of the key (6, 6') rests against the locator element (26). The locator element (26) comprises a portion (24) which can be withdrawn from the clamp in a manner parallel to the axis of the shank (14) of the key (6, 6'), when the key is clamped between the jaws (10, 10') of the clamp, and a locator bar (34) extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the withdrawable portion (24), which can interact with the collar (16). The withdrawable portion (24) of the locator element (26) is provided with a plurality of notches (28) spaced apart in the withdrawal direction and selectively snap-engagable by an elastic engagement element (30, 32) provided on the clamp (2, 2').
