This toy (2) forming a rocking seat or a carrier on wheels (72A, 72B, 74A, 74B) comprises a hollow body (4) made of moulded synthetic material and forming a seat. The interior volume of the body (4) is open to the bottom in the use configuration of the toy. The body (4) is provided with two curved and concave edges (44) which form tracks for bearing on the ground in the rocking seat configuration of the toy. The wheels (72A, 72B, 74A, 74B) are articulated, in pairs, on the body (4) and can move with respect to the body between a deployed position, corresponding to the carrier on wheels configuration of the toy, where the wheels can roll on the ground while supporting the body at a distance from the ground, and a retracted position, corresponding to the rocking seat configuration of the toy, where the wheels are housed in the interior volume of the body. Immobilizing means (622C, 642C) lock the wheels respectively in each of the deployed and retracted positions. The wheels are four in number and pivotably mounted, in pairs, on supports (62, 64) articulated on the body (4). An auxiliary edge (496) of the body bears against a support (64) in the deployed position.
