FISHING LINE PLATED WITH METAL AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A fishing line which is a twisted yarn or braided yarn comprising a multifilament yarn constituted of ultrahigh-molecular polyethylene. The fishing line is characterized in that the outer surface of the multifilament yarn has been plated with a metal, the surfaces forming interstices among single filaments constituting the multifilament yarn have also been plated with a metal, the depth of the plated region from the outer surface of the multifilament yarn is larger than the equivalent-circle diameter of the single filaments, and a central part of the multifilament yarn has not been plated. The fishing line hence has excellent flexibility and is excellent in the property of sinking into water. This fishing line is less apt to decrease in sinking property during use.
