An embroidery sewing machine including: a perforation head having a plurality of vertically reciprocating bars and punches where each punch includes a perforation head; a receiving base having a receiving member configured to receive the punch; a holder frame for supporting a workpiece in an expanded state between the punch and the receiving base, the holder frame being configured to be controlled to move in two-dimensional planar directions; and a tape feed mechanism feeding a tape-like cushioning material having a wider width than at least a processing area of the punch, wherein the material is fed from the front/rear direction and between the workpiece supported in the holder frame and an upper surface of the receiving member, and wherein an upstream portion of the material is shifted downstream to where the receiving member is located according to the vertically reciprocating motion of the punch.
This punching device is provided with: a punching head; a vacuum apparatus (50); a suction flow passage; and a suction switching apparatus (V). The punching head includes: a plurality of hollow rods that move vertically; and punching tools respectively provided on the tips of the hollow rods and having through-holes penetrating in the axial direction. The vacuum apparatus (50) suctions punched scraps that are produced by a punching processing of the punching head. The suction flow passage connects the through-holes of the punching tools and the vacuum device (50). The suction switching apparatus (V) changes the path of the suction flow passage so that the suction flow passage communicates only with a hollow rod, which performs the punching processing, among the plurality of hollow rods.
This sewing machine is provided with: a support member, which is a support arm (19) capable of moving up and down through an opening (24) provided in a throat plate (4), and which includes a cloth receiving surface (22) for supporting an object being sewn, and a needle hole (23) provided in the cloth receiving surface in such a way as to allow the passage of a needle which is moving up and down; and a raising and lowering mechanism (40) which moves the support arm up and down while keeping the cloth receiving surface of the support arm horizontal. The support arm extends in a lateral direction relative to the sewing machine, one end thereof is attached in a cantilevered state to the raising and lowering mechanism, and the cloth receiving surface and the needle hole are at the other end thereof. The raising and lowering mechanism includes a slide rail (10) which extends in a straight line, wherein the support arm is supported in a substantially perpendicular direction relative to the slide rail, and the support arm moves up and down along the slide rail. By this means, the height of a supporting portion which supports the object being sewn during sewing can be changed to a desired height.
The present invention includes: a boring head (4) containing a lifting-lowering rod (rod) that moves up and down and punches (boring tools) provided at the distal end of the lifting-lowering rod; a receiving base (6) disposed below the boring head (4) and containing a receiving member that receives the punches lowered in conjunction with the down movement of the lifting-lowering rod; a holding frame (14) that expands and holds an object to be processed between the punches and the receiving base (6) in a planar direction intersecting an up-down direction of the lifting-lowering rod, the movement of the holding frame being controlled in two-dimensional directions, namely a front-back direction and a left-right direction orthogonal to the front-back direction, from among the planar directions; and a tape supplying mechanism (8) (buffer material supplying mechanism) that supplies a tape buffer material wider than at least the processing area of the punches between the object to be processed held by the holding frame (14) and an upper surface of the receiving member, from the front-back direction, while shifting the position of the tape buffer material for each lifting-lowering movement of the punches.
Disclosed is a sewing machine which evaluates sewing quality using a stitch tightness index. During sewing operation, a used length of an upper thread per stitch is detected, and a stitch tightness index per sewn stitch is calculated on the basis of a stitch length per stitch defined by sewing pattern data, a fabric thickness of a sewing workpiece, and detected data of the used length of the upper thread. Then, notification is made which corresponds to the calculated stitch tightness index per sewn stitch (such as a visual display of the stitch tightness index). After that, acceptability/non-acceptability of the thread tightness per sewn stitch can be determined by comparing the calculated stitch tightness index per sewn stitch against a reference value, and a result of the determination can be notified.

A needle bar case has a plurality of needle bars. As a main shaft is rotated by a main shaft motor (first drive source), the needle bars are driven in an up-down direction so that a sewing operation is carried out in a conventionally-known manner. Ascending/descending bars are supported on the needle bar case in corresponding relation to the needle bars, and each of the ascending/descending bars is driven in the up-down direction by a motor (second drive source). A cord guide member for guiding a cord material onto a workpiece is mounted to the lower end of any of the ascending/descending bars, in place of a conventional presser foot. Cord sewing or loop sewing of cord material can be performed selectively by changing an ascending/descending stroke of the ascending/descending bar. Thus, cord sewing and loop sewing of the chord material can be performed selectively with a simple construction.

The present invention relates to a sewing machine which evaluates sewing quality using a thread tightening index. During a sewing operation, an upper thread used length (U) used for each stitch is detected, and a thread tightening index (Ks) for each sewn stitch is calculated on the basis of a stitch length (M) for each stitch, defined in accordance with sewing pattern data, a fabric thickness (t) of the object being sewn, and the detected upper thread used length (U) data. A report (for example a display of the thread tightening index Ks) corresponding to the thread tightening index (Ks) calculated for each sewn stitch is issued. By comparing the thread tightening index (Ks) calculated for each sewn stitch with a reference value (Kref), the acceptability of the thread tightness for each sewn stitch can be assessed, and the assessment results can be reported.
A cylindrical object frame driving device is provided with: a first drive member (5, 30) which is configured to linearly move in a Y-axis direction; a drive ring (3) which linearly moves integrally with the first drive member (5, 30) in the Y-axis direction, is rotatable about a Y-axis, and is configured such that a cylindrical object frame (2) to which a cylindrical object to be sewed is fitted is detachably attached thereto, the drive ring (3) including a boss (3b) located on the rotation axis of the drive ring (3), and a rib (7) for connecting the boss (3b) to an annular part of the drive ring (3); a support mechanism (11, 22) which is configured to support the boss (3b) linearly movably in the Y-axis direction and rotatably about the Y-axis; and a second drive member (6, 15, 31) which is configured to rotationally drive the drive ring (3) about the Y-axis.
In the present invention, an embroidery machine has a needle bar case (5) provided with a plurality of needle bars (3). When a main shaft (6) is rotated by a main shaft motor (first drive source) (60), the needle bars (3) are lift-driven and a known sewing operation is carried out. Lifting bars (15) are supported in the needle bar case (5) so as to respectively correspond to the needle bars (3), and each lifting bar (15) is lift-driven by a motor (second drive source) (16). As a substitute for a known fabric pressing body (18), at the lower end of the lifting bars (15) a cord guiding body (20) is attached that guides a cord material (27) above an object-of-sewing material. By changing the lifting stroke of the lifting bars (15), cord sewing or loop sewing of the cord material (27) is selectively carried out. Due to this configuration, it becomes possible to selectively carry out cord sewing and loop sewing of the cord material using a simple configuration.

EMBROIDERY SEWING MACHINE COMPRISING PERFORATING HEAD
The present invention addresses the problem of suitably processing a workpiece that has comparatively high rigidity and resistance to needle insertion, such as leather, by an embroidery sewing machine that sews while controlling movement of the workpiece in two-dimensions. An embroidery sewing machine comprises a normal embroidery head (3), a perforating head (4) that includes a rod (4a) that moves up and down and a perforating tool (21) provided on the distal end of the rod, and a receiving base (35) that is disposed under the perforating head and that receives the perforating tool that was lowered with the downward movement of the rod. At least one of embroidery sewing and perforated pattern forming is performed on a workpiece (H) by selectively using one of the embroidery head and the perforating head. For example, a desired perforated pattern is formed on the workpiece using the perforating head, and then embroidery sewing is performed using the embroidery head on at least a portion of the perforations of the perforated pattern that was formed on the workpiece.
A restricting member (11) is positioned above a sewing machine table (2) and below a sewing frame (7) arranged moveably in the X and Y directions of the sewing machine, and moves in the Y direction together with the sewing frame (7), but is linked to the sewing frame (7) so as not to follow movement of said sewing frame (7) in the X direction; the restricting member (11) engages with the two sides (7a, 7b) of the sewing frame (7) so as to maintain at a prescribed interval the interval in the Y direction of the two sides of the sewing frame (7) which extend in the X direction. A guide member (10) is provided on the top surface of the sewing machine table (2) and slidably guides the restricting member (11) in the Y direction. For example, the guide member (10) comprises a groove depression formed on the top surface of the sewing machine table (2) and the restricting member (11) enters into the groove depression and can slide along the groove.
[Problem] To facilitate the sewing of beads, which are a combination of different beads. [Solution] The device is provided with multiple storage tubes (28) for stacking and storing multiple beads. From one storage tube selected therefrom, a single bead is dispatched in conjunction with the sewing action to a position directly under a specified needle. For example, the device is equipped with multiple dispensing members (25) provided to correspond with respective storage tubes. By selectively driving one of same, the intended type of bead is selected. In another example, a single bead from one selected storage tube is moved by a sliding plate (59) to a specified dispatching position and the bead located at the dispatching position is dispatched by a delivery member (49) to a position directly under a needle.
Sewing machine includes, in association with each thread take-up levers: a thread take-up member provided on the front surface of a support member cover and having a thread take-up spring; a prevention member for preventing a thread, put on the thread take-up spring, from flowing rearward; a cover member provided in front of the thread take-up member and independently detachable in a forward direction; and a guide section having a valley portion formed therein for receiving therein a distal end portion of the thread take-up spring and movably guiding the received distal end portion. The cover member has a lower end portion opened to permit insertion therein of a thread and is constructed to guide the thread from the lower end portion to the thread take-up spring. The cover member may further include a guide wall for guiding the thread from the lower end portion to the thread take-up spring.
A guide is mounted to a rotary member which is freely rotatable about the axis of a needle bar, and guides a sewing material to a needle drop position of the sewing needle. A cutter device is mounted to a side of the rotary member opposed to the guide in such a manner that the cutter device is rotatable together with the rotary member for cutting the sewing material, having been paid out from the guide, at a predetermined cutting position. A retention mechanism is incorporated in the cutter device for retaining an end portion of the sewing material, at a position closer to the guide than the predetermined cutting position and in interlocked relation to cutting, by the cutter device, of the sewing material. Thus, upon restart of sewing of the sewing material, the retention mechanism retains an end portion of the sewing material.
