Disclosed is a method that reduces measuring errors caused by the variation in rainfall intensity and analyses the behaviour of the mechanism, in instruments for measuring fluids with tipping buckets. The method analyses the addition of surplus during the movement of pivot, the bucket tip time, their variation with rainfall intensity, and the reduction in the nominal tipping volume, using the relationship between the increase in surplus water and the reduction in the tipping volume, caused by the variation in the pivot tip time and in the force of the water. The present invention relates to a method and system for detecting, manipulating and isolating circulating tumour cells found in organic liquids by a simplified laser-assisted transfer process. Disclosed is a method of sensing a target analyte in a liquid sample using a bulk acoustic wave resonator device. The liquid sample is placed on the bulk acoustic wave resonator device which is operated to generate bulk acoustic waves. A shift in the fundamental resonant frequency of the bulk acoustic wave resonator device is measured. The bulk acoustic wave resonator device comprises a resonator structure and an acoustic decoupling layer. The resonator structure comprises:a piezoelectric material layer; electrodes arranged to apply a driving signal to the piezoelectric material layer to generate bulk acoustic waves;and a resonator structure surface. The acoustic decoupling layer is formed over the resonator structure surface. The acoustic decoupling layer acoustic impedance is: up to 1/5 times or not less than 5 times the resonator structure acoustic impedance, and up to 1/5 times or not less than 5 times the liquid sample acoustic impedance.
A method of molecular self-assembly is disclosed using two interacting streams that are allowed to interact and are subsequently forced through an orifice. A first stream of a dope solution of polymer molecules is extruded out of a capillary. The dope stream is surrounded by a focusing fluid which is miscible with the dope solution. The interaction between the jet of dope solution and surrounding focusing fluid creates hydrodynamic stretching and allows for extracting solvent from the dope solution. Concentrated polymers within the solution at stretched regions of the jet interact, and finally self-assembly takes place after the fluids are forced through the outlet of a converging nozzle. The formation of the structure can be optionally completed in a coagulating space. The structures thus obtained such as fibers or threads can be wound onto a mandrel.

The present invention can detect internal faults in systems, regardless of whether the shortcircuit occurs in the stator or in the rotor of a wound rotor induction machine (2). The differential current wave calculated as a result of comparing the currents measured in the stator (9) and in the rotor (10), after applying various correction factors (11) and the Park transform (12) and (13), is used as a fault indicator. The amplitude of said differential current makes it possible to differentiate between internal and external faults of the machine.

The invention relates to a plasma accelerator that produces and controls a plasma stream exhaust, in particular for space propulsion. The ions are produced inside the discharge chamber by working gas collisional ionization by electrons from a single electron source placed outside, also employed for ion beam neutralization. The invention relates to a method for producing a cementitious composite, comprising: 1) a first step of conditioning silica nanoparticles, in which the nanoparticles are heated to a temperature of between 85-235°C for a sufficiently long time interval so as to obtain a maximum moisture content of 0,3% relative to the total weight of the material resulting from the first step; 2) a dry dispersion step, in which the nanoparticles conditioned in step 1) are dispersed over cement and in which inert grinding balls are used; 3) a step of conditioning the cementitious composite obtained in step 2), in which the grinding balls are separated from the cementitious composite produced. The invention also relates to the resulting composite, to cement derivatives comprising said composite, preferably mortars and concrete, to the production method thereof and to the use of these materials in industry.

The invention relates to the use of oligosaccharides as stimulators of plant growth in already germinated plants and to a method for obtaining said oligosaccharides. The invention particularly relates to the use of oligosaccharides composed of N-acetyl glucosamine and glucosamine as stimulators of plant growth in already germinated plants, where the percentage of N-acetyl glucosamine in said oligosaccharides is 100% and where the length of said oligosaccharides is between 1 and 6 monosaccharides.
