The present disclosure relates to bioadhesives, their method of preparation and uses thereof. Taking in consideration the mussels bioinspired adhesion mechanism, the present disclosure is related to the fabrication of a bioadhesive composed of two natural derived molecules, the polyphenol tannic acid (TA) and the natural derived polymer pullulan (PUL). Methacrylated PUL(PUL-MA) and TA water-soluble solutions are simply mixed and the two are connected through supramolecular bonding, rendering the formation of a coacervate phase with adhesive properties – TAPUL-MA bioadhesive. TA, in addition to acting as an adhesion molecule, works as crosslinker between PUL-MA molecules, conferring also cohesion to the bioadhesive. To increase the biocompatibility of the bioadhesives, a catalase enzyme was added to the formulations. The production method is easy, low-cost and easily scalable, and TAPUL-MA does not imply the use of any curing agent for application. The TAPUL-MA bioadhesive produced by the methods disclosed in this application have low toxicity, are biodegradable, provide adhesion even in humid conditions, as well as antibacterial and hemostatic properties. Therefore, the adhesive composition may be used as a medical adhesive, namely as a hemostatic agent in surgery, to stop bleeding.
The invention describes a scanning probe imaging system with the probe held at a small distance from a sample (7) surface of the part during raster-scanning image acquisition. The interaction between the sample (7) and the probe's cantilever arm (17') is achieved due to microwave near fields formed at the sharp probe tip (18). Due to the near fields, the electrical impedance of the probe depends on the distance between the probe and the sample (7) and on the sample electrical properties, both in the immediate vicinity of the probe tip (18). The microwave detection system senses the electrical impedance of the probe at a set microwave frequency. The probe-sample distance is set and controlled with the use of an optical chromatic confocal displacement sensor as well as with the signals of the microwave detection system.

Secure channel training to enhance the confidentiality level of a power domain non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communication system when impaired by eavesdropping attacks coming from inside and outside of the network. In a first scenario, a cooperative jammer available in the system defines an external source of entropy that is independent of the channel variation rate. While the jammer provides secrecy inside the network, the proposed invention is configured to secure the network from outside, encoding the system information, which is exchanged during the training phase, using only the channel state. In a second scenario, the cooperative jammer is not available; with the secrecy inside and outside of the network ensured through a different parameterization. That parameterization is done in a way that the required system information is encoded using not only the channels, but also a random phase defined in the data communication phase.

The invention relates to an optimised method for nanocoating cells, such as pancreatic islets or insulin-secreting β cells, in order to cause immunoisolation once same are transplanted to a receiving organism for cell therapy. The method is based on layer-by-layer cell nanoencapsulation, with different layers of elastin-like recombinamers (ELRs) modified to comprise azide or alkyne groups capable of reacting with each other by means of "click" chemistry, positive charges and cell adhesion sequences. The cells thus coated remain viable and functional once implanted and do not induce an immunological rejection by the receiving organism. In addition, the system provides correct permeability that allows both the secretion of factors, such as insulin, from inside to outside the implant, and the entry of nutrients and oxygen to maintain cell viability.

METHOD, TRANSMITTER DEVICE AND RECEIVER DEVICE FOR SECURING CHANNEL TRAINING ON A POWER DOMAIN NON- ORTHOGONAL MULTIPLE ACCESS SYSTEM
MMethod, transmitter device and receiver device for securing channel for wireless communications comprising a secure channel training method designed to enhance the confidentiality level of a power domain non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communication system when this is impaired by eavesdropping attacks coming from inside (3) and outside (5) of the network. In a first scenario, a cooperative jammer (2) available in the system defines an external source of entropy that is independent of the channel variation rate. While the jammer provides secrecy inside the network, the proposed invention is configured to secure the network from outside, encoding the system information, which should be exchanged during the training phase, using only the channel state. In a second scenario, the cooperative jammer is not available; being the secrecy inside and outside of the network ensured through a different parameterization. That parameterization is done in a way that the required system information is encoded using not only the channels, but also a random phase defined in the data communication phase.

The present invention relates to the development of an aluminium hydroxide (ATH) with a Boehmite structure, and to a formulation comprising an aluminium hydroxide (ATH) with a Boehmite structure. Although a small mass of aluminium hydroxide is added to the paper substrate, it is extremely effective to produce a paper with matte properties, ideal for inkjet printing with a very high contrast brightness value. This formulation is used to prepare paper coating baths which, besides the modified pigment, contain a single chemical additive, starch, which works at the same time as a rheology modifier and as a binder. The coating bath is applied with a blade and the calendering process is controlled to produce a matte surface, together with a coating structure with two levels of effectiveness, an optical effectiveness (light scattering) and a printing quality effectiveness (control of ink penetration). The present invention is useful in the paper industry.
