An amusement device includes a substructure with a passenger seat, which is rotatable relative to a main structure by a bearing and a coupling. The coupling has a coupling ring and a coupling actuator for driving the substructure about a coupling axis C-C. The coupling ring has an end face which is toothed to engage with a toothed end face of a lock element of a lockage for rotationally locking the coupling ring with respect to the main structure. The lock element is axially movable and rotationally constrained with respect to an lockage actuator. A spring and electromagnet respectively serve for axially moving the lock element. During a normal ride, the lockage is open and all kind of rotations are possible, but in case of an interference the lockage engages for safety.

The passenger assembly includes a frame (15a, b, c) that is connected to the carriage, the frame at least being provided with: - a chest support (20), - a back restraining member (22), and - a leg restraining device for each leg, such that in the racing position: - the passenger's head is directed forward, - the passenger's trunk is resting with its chest side on the chest support, - the back restraining member restrains motion of the passenger away from the chest support, - the leg restraining devices each hold the respective leg such that the upper leg is angled downward with respect to the trunk and the leg is bend at the knee so that the lower leg is angled rearward with respect to the upper leg. A leg restraining device for restraining a leg includes: - an upper leg retention member (31 ) adapted to engage at least the front side of the upper leg, - a lower leg retention member (32) adapted to engage at least the front side of the lower leg, so that the upper and lower leg retention members retain the leg while bend at the knee.
This invention relates to an amusement ride installation, comprising at least one passenger carrier (2), an amusement ride guide structure (3) and a launch system (1) adapted to accelerate the at least one passenger carrier from a starting position. The launch system comprises a launch guide structure having a curvature (c), a launch arm (4) rotatable about a rotation axis (6), engagement means (7) for providing a temporary connection between the launch arm and the at least one passenger carrier during the launch, and launch drive means providing the launch arm with an angular velocity. In the launch system according to the invention the radial distance between the engagement means and the launch arm support (5) is variable such that portions of the launch guide structure have a deviating radius, or the distance in axial direction between the engagement means and the launch arm support is variable such that portions of the launch guide structure have curvatures perpendicular to the surface of rotation, such as slopes or banking.
The invention relates to an amusement device seat assembly, comprising a seat and a bar construction, moveable between a access position to a passenger fixation position, in which the passenger is fixed in the seat. The assembly further comprises locking means to lock the bar construction at the passenger fixation position. The locking means comprise engagement means to engage and disengage with the bar construction and a guide for the engagement means allowing the engagement means to assume an engagement position between the access position and the passenger fixation position, and allowing the engagement means and the engaged bar construction to move between the engagement position to the passenger fixation position. The locking means comprise fixation means for fixing the engagement means and the engaged bar construction at multiple passenger fixation positions along the guide to accommodate passengers of different sizes.

An amusement device has an elongated track along which one or more amusement device seat assemblies adapted to carry the one or more passengers are moveable. Each seat assembly has a seat with a seating surface and a back support with a back support surface. The seat assembly further includes a bar construction attached to a pivot mechanism. This bar construction has a hip bar and one or more pivot arms integral with the hip bar, which bar construction is pivotable about the pivot axis from a raised position in which the hip bar is raised from the seating surface to allow a passenger to sit down in the amusement device seat assembly, to a lowered position. No part of the bar construction takes away the view of the person and limits the movements of the arms of the person, allowing the passenger to experience a great sense of freedom.
Amusement ride device, comprising a track and at least one carriage, which carriage is moveable along the track in a transport direction. The carriage comprises a transport part which engages on the track, at least one platform that allows to support the feet of at least one passenger, and at least one passenger torso restraint engaging on the torso of the passenger for safely supporting the passenger. The transport part comprises one of the passenger torso restraint or the platform to support the passenger, while the other is connected by connecting means to the transport part. An amusement park attraction comprises an array of cells, the array including cells being arranged at various horizontal positions and various vertical positions. A movable passenger assembly, preferably a seat assembly, is provided for one or more passengers, which passenger assembly is at least movable in vertical direction. The passenger assembly and/or the array of cells is movable in horizontal direction.
A cell is defined by a boundary and has a viewing opening. Mmultiple cells of said array each contain a discrete scene to be viewed by the one or more passengers.
A programmable actuating system is provided, which actuating system provides a programmed route of said passenger assembly along the viewing openings of said scene containing cells, so that the one or more passengers are presented a predetermined sequence of scenes and at least experience a vertical motion along said route.
Preferably the passenger assembly is movable in vertical direction and at least in one other direction, preferably multiple other directions, said other directions preferably including at least one rotational direction, if desired a composite motion in multiple directions simultaneously.
Preferably the array of cells is stationary and the actuating system is associated with said passenger assembly to impart motions at least in vertical as well as horizontal direction to said passenger assembly.
