The airfoil has a first side portion and an opposite second side portion and having a twist along an axis of the airfoil. The method comprises providing first and second mould elements for moulding the first and the second side portions, respectively. The method also comprises positioning a substantially rigid elongate truss having the twist along an axis of the elongate truss between the first and second mould elements to that the first and second mould elements surround at least the majority of the rigid elongate truss and an interior space. Further, the method comprises introducing a liquid material into the interior space so that at least a portion of the elongate rigid truss is embedded in the liquid material, the liquid material being arranged for hardening; and, after hardening of the liquid material. In addition, the method comprises removing the hardened material with the elongated rigid truss and the mould elements from each other.
