A medicament delivery device for accommodating a medicament container is disclosed. The device comprises a distal cap (5), a plunger rod (41), a signal member (60) having a distal base (61) and a plurality of arms (62) extending proximally therefrom along the plunger rod (41), a drive spring (43) extending at least partially into an interior of the plunger rod (41), the drive spring (43) having a proximal end abutting against a proximal end bottom (45) of the plunger rod (41) and a distal end abutting against the distal base (61) of the signal member (60). The signal member (60), the plunger rod (41) and the biasing member (43) are at least partially accommodated in a cavity (54) of the distal cap (5), said cavity (54) being open towards proximally. In an initial state the drive spring (43) is compressed and there is a gap between the distal base (61) of the signal member (60) and a distal end wall (51) of the cavity (54). A release of the drive spring (43) moves the plunger rod (41) relative to the distal cap (5) into a proximal direction, causing the plunger rod (41) to act on the medicament container (3) for expelling a medicament therefrom, and moves the signal member (60) relative to the distal cap (5) into a distal direction.
