Abrégé
A system (100) for processing sand product includes a process tank (104) having a first compartment (104a), a second compartment (104b) in fluid communication with the first compartment (104a), and a third compartment (104c) isolated from the other compartments. The system (100) also includes a first hydrocyclone (116) that receives a sand mixture comprising the sand product and water from the first compartment (104a), and separate the sand mixture into wet sand and a clay mixture. The second compartment (104b) receives the wet sand and clay mixture from the first hydrocyclone (116). A second hydrocyclone (120) receives the wet sand and the clay mixture from the second compartment (104b), and further separates the wet sand from the clay mixture to produce a clay product that includes a fully hydrated clay material. The third compartment (104c) receives the clay product from the second hydrocyclone (120)

Abrégé
One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for producing beneficial re-use sand from foundry sand. Foundry sand can be collected from a mold making operation, and/or from the casting removal and cleaning process. The collected sand product can be cleaned and separated into a clay and carbon mixture, and a beneficial re-use sand. The collected sand product can be cleaned by mixing with water, and subjecting the resulting mix to a hydrocyclone at appropriate flow rates. The hydrocyclone can separate the mix into a carbon, clay and water mix for re-use, and a wet sand mix. Water can be separated from the wet sand and reused, and the resulting sand can be used as beneficial re-use sand.
Classes IPC ?
