An aqueous monoethanolamine thioglycolate solution is caused to adhere to a fabric comprising wool fibers. The fabric is kept wet while being blocked from air, and then washed with water. A surface of this fabric is heated and pressed. Thus, long-lasting glossiness is imparted to the surface of the fabric comprising wool fibers. This glossiness is substantially stably maintained even through laundering or steaming.
