The present invention relates to methods for manufacturing expansion devices for breaking of solid material, whereby the expansion device is placed into predrilled holes in the solid material and expands with pressurisation. The methods of execution can differ, but the collective main function is to enable for significant radial expansion, with a reinforced hose element with a non-cylindrical expansion chamber as a point of departure. This is obtained with modifications in various stages of the manufacturing process, where the reinforced core is shaped into apt cross-sections before the hose construction is finally vulcanized, in cases where unvulcanized rubber is used.
