Ultrasound waves are used as the acoustic emission and the sound speed is measured by means of the E.D. Popov pulse-cyclic sound speed meter (1). For the submarine vessel, the measurements are carried out at three depths corresponding to the fin structure level, the level of the submarine vessel fore and under the bottom thereof. Said invention makes it possible to develop a simple and operative method and to extend the possibilities thereof.
