A toilet having a tank to receive water and a bowl connected with the tank. Water travels from the tank to the bowl to discharge waste in the bowl through a manifold connected to the bowl and into a drain line. The toilet has a jet trapway portion having a jet inlet with a nozzle connected with the tank. The nozzle directs water from the jet inlet to overcome an upward bend in the jet trapway portion until received by the manifold at an inlet below the upward bend. A waste trapway portion extends from the manifold opposite the jet trapway portion and connects with the drain line. Waste is discharged from the bowl through the manifold over a bend in the waste trapway portion by combining water flowing from the jet trapway portion into the manifold with waste flowing from the manifold into the waste trapway portion.
A fill valve with pressure chamber having an open bottom end and a diaphragm at a top end such that falling water level in the toilet tank causes the diaphragm to flex in a first direction, thereby moving a sealing member to an open position, with a venturi in the fill valve keeping the sealing member in the open position until water refilling the tank causes the diaphragm to flex in a second direction, thereby moving the sealing member back to the closed position.

A fill valve having top and bottom openings that are opened and closed by up and down movement of an upper seal and a lower seal that are both connected to a float, wherein the upper seal is positioned below the top opening and the lower seal is positioned below the bottom opening, and wherein the upper seal is larger than the lower seal such that the total force required to open or close the valve is very small, thereby enabling the float that is used to be small as well.
A toilet sensor and actuator assembly, having: (a) an infrared sensor configured to detect the presence of an object at a far distance from a toilet; (b) an ultrasonic sensor configured to detect the presence of the object at a near distance from the toilet, wherein the ultrasonic sensor remains in a sleep mode until awakened by a signal from the infrared sensor that the infrared sensor has detected the presence of the object at the far distance; and (c) an actuator mechanism that flushes the toilet in response to a signal from the ultrasonic sensor that the ultrasonic sensor has detected the presence of the object at the near distance.
A touchless flush system, comprising a toilet bowl, a flush controller, and a sensor unit. The flush controller is operatively connected to the toilet bowl. The sensor unit is operatively connected to the flush controller, the sensor unit being operable to detect changes within the toilet bowl. The sensor unit detects changes in properties of the toilet bowl with respect to contents present therein, wherein if a detected change in properties satisfies a first predetermined threshold, the flush controller causes a flush volume to be delivered to the toilet bowl.
A flush consistency control system may comprise a reservoir with a drain opening for egress of liquids from the reservoir into a toilet tank. The reservoir may comprise a surface with one or more walls and a partition on the surface dividing the reservoir into multiple compartments which may house liquids, wherein the compartments are in fluid communication through a gap so liquids flow at a predetermined rate between the compartments and through a drain opening of the reservoir. A flush consistency control system may also comprise a post with one or more latches extending away from the post, the latch having a lower mounting surface which extends away from the post at a declining angle and a latch-strike end of a float lever that securely engages with the lower mounting surface of the latch when the float descends.
A system for mounting a fill valve in a toilet with a pivotable reservoir is disclosed. The pivotable reservoir is disposed inside the toilet tank. A fill valve is secured in the tank and designed to deliver water to the pivotable reservoir from an external water supply, wherein the fill valve is secured by a valve support mechanism to a lower portion of the tank. The fill valve support mechanism comprises a fluid line support mechanism and a fluid line. The fluid line support mechanism routes the fluid line away from and around the space through which the pivotable reservoir moves when actuated. A plurality of fasteners connect the fluid line to the fluid line support mechanism and the fill valve mechanism to the toilet tank and water supply.
A touchless activation system comprising an infrared detector configured to detect an object within a target range, wherein an initial reading is measured by the infrared detector. A second sensor operatively connected to the infrared detector, wherein the second sensor is turned on when the initial reading is measured. The infrared detector measures whether the object is within the target range by comparing the initial reading with an object initiated reflection and determining if a predetermined threshold is exceeded, wherein the second sensor is configured to receive a system activation request. An activator mechanism configured to process the system request and cause the touchless activation system to execute an action associated with the system request. The system is configured to flush a toilet or other plumbing fixture, wherein the system request causes the activator mechanism to flush a toilet.
An improved flush assembly as described herein may comprise a reservoir with a drain opening for egress of liquids disposed in the reservoir into a surrounding toilet tank. A lock mechanism is slidably received by the reservoir so that the lock mechanism is translatable between one or more fixed positions on the reservoir. In turn, translating the lock mechanism into the reservoir at increasing depths causes a size of the drain opening to be reduced and therefore adjusted.
A flush valve system may comprise a rail guide configured to extend between upper and lower portions of the flush valve system in a toilet tank. A float may be slidably coupled to the rail guide and be configured to be received by a reservoir associated with the float. The float may comprise a closed upper surface with a mating pocket and one or more circumferential walls extending from the closed upper surface. A lock mechanism may be slidably received by the mating pocket of the float. The lock mechanism may comprise one or more bias arms to fixedly engage the lock mechanism to the float and one or more locking members to fixedly engage the lock mechanism to the rail guide.

A toilet flush valve that has a moveable buoyant float therein, wherein the float has an open bottom end to trap air therein and wherein the housing includes controls to selectively release air to allow the float to move upwardly therein to permit flushing. By timing when one or two air vents on the housing are open, the duration and volume of the flush can be controlled, with the buoyancy provided by the water lifting the float to open the flush valve. This provides a flushing system with minimal activation energy.
