The resulting zeolite is used in an FCC catalyst composition comprising about 2 to about 80 wt% one or more zeolite, about 15 to about 50 wt% quasicrystalline boehmite, about 0 to about 50 wt% microcrystalline boehmite, and greater than about 0 to about 25 wt% silica.
