A respect barrier to prevent the public from getting too close to an object on display in a museum environment, including a main bar, a secondary bar anchored to the main bar, and a fastening assembly for fastening the secondary bar to a wall. The secondary bar includes a tubular end portion with at least one through-hole. The fastening assembly includes a fixing plug, and a tang fastened to the fixing plug and protruding from the wall. The end of the tubular end portion rests on a flange transversally protruding from the tang. A threaded hole is formed in the tang and a screw is inserted into the through-hole and engaged into the threaded hole. Prior to mounting the secondary bar on the tang, the distance between the threaded hole and the flange is smaller than the distance between the through-hole and the end of the tubular end portion.
A museum showcase includes a display space and an opening aid unit. The display space is enclosed in a case with an openable door, which is held in the closed position by a magnetic coupling between a first magnetic element on the case and a second magnetic element on the door. The opening aid unit includes a lever and an abutting element. The lever, mounted on the case, is angularly movable about a pivot axis between a first position and a second position and operable from outside the showcase. The contact end of the lever, in the first position of the lever, interferes with the abutting element to impose a displacement of the door from the case and, in the second position of the lever, does not impose any displacement of the door from the case.
A method for treating museum display cases includes subjecting a display case to alternating heating and resting steps. The heat treatment process substantially reduces the emission of volatile substances, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), from the materials comprising the display case. The reduction in volatile emissions prevents damage to museum objects subsequently exhibited within the treated display case.
The museum showcase includes a supporting frame, at least one glass wall with an inner face and an outer face, and a fixing frame glued to the inner face of the glass wall by an adhesive and mounted on the supporting frame of the showcase. The showcase also includes for each glass wall a safety profile with a fixing portion and a retaining portion. The fixing portion is fixed to the fixing frame and to the supporting frame; the fixing portion rests at least partially on the inner face of the glass wall near its lower perimeter edge. The retaining portion is hooked to the perimeter edge of the glass wall to retain the glass wall against the fixing portion of the safety profile. The weight of the glass wall is therefore also supported by the safety profile, which reduces the shear stress to which the adhesive is subjected.
A museum display case with a fixed case formed by fixed glass walls surmounted by an upper openable glass door. The openable glass door is slidingly openable with respect to the fixed case. The fixed glass walls and the openable glass door have, with respect to the display case, respective inner faces and outer faces connected by peripheral edges. The museum display case has two linear sliding guides between the openable glass door and the fixed case. The linear sliding guides are applied, on one side, on the inner face of the openable glass door near opposite peripheral edges of the openable glass door and, on the other side, on the peripheral edge of two opposite fixed glass walls. The linear sliding guides have dimensions corresponding to the thickness of the fixed glass wall to which they are applied.
A service implement for a museum display case has a panel having shape and dimensions corresponding to those of a door of a compartment hosting hygroscopic material for the control of the relative humidity inside the museum display case. The panel has at least a through passage suitable for connection to an external source of air or for housing a detecting probe. With this service implement, the space provided for the compartment with hygroscopic material becomes an easy access into the display case. Thus, before the display case is used to accommodate delicate objects, it can be subject to treatment, monitoring or measuring relevant parameters inside the display case.
A museum display case with climate control comprises a case bottom, a display space above the case bottom, a shelf inside the display space, and a housing for hygroscopic material facing into the display space below the shelf. The housing includes a housing window open in the case bottom, a housing frame fixed to the case bottom below the housing window, and a tray mounted in the housing frame. The tray is horizontally and vertically movable between a working position where the tray is raised vertically towards the display space at the window and a service position where the tray is at least partly pulled horizontally out of the housing frame.
A museum display case includes a display space, a filtration system and a climate control system to treat air in the display space. The display case also includes a first air circulation circuit and a second air circulation circuit, which are separate from each other and both originating and terminating in the display space. The filtration system is included in the first air circulation circuit and the climate control system is included in the second air circulation circuit. By providing two independent and separate circulation circuits it is possible to operate such circuits at different intervals, each according to its respective needs, thus avoiding, for example, unnecessary activation of filtration due to the need to intervene on climate control or vice versa.
In order to improve the behaviour of a museum display case towards objects exhibited therein, the display case is subjected to a heat treatment in which the museum display case is maintained at a treatment temperature for a treatment time. The treatment temperature is between 35° and 50° and the treatment time is at least 30 hours. In this way, the emission of harmful volatile substances, including VOCs (volatile organic compounds), is drastically reduced and consequently the objects displayed in the display case are not at risk of damages due to the presence of these volatile substances in the display case.

Museum showcase with hidden access to technical compartment
A museum showcase includes a base, with a laterally accessible technical compartment and an upper platform, and an exhibition space above the platform, delimited by vertically extended glass walls. The glass walls include at least one multi-layered special glass wall, formed of an inner glass pane and an outer glass pane. The inner glass pane extends downwards to cover the base and includes an opening at the technical compartment. The outer glass pane extends downwards only to a height such that the opening in the inner glass pane remains free. The special glass wall includes an openable door shaped and sized to form an extension of the outer glass pane downwards to cover the base. In this way, the opening of the technical compartment is accessible by opening the door, without having to open access to the exhibition space. The inner glass pane ensures that the exhibition space remains closed.
A method for construction of a museum display case is presented. The museum display case has a platform and a case above the platform, the case having at least one opening door. The method includes: providing glass panes, applying first metal beams to the glass panes beforehand by gluing, forming wall units, providing second metal beams at the opening door, forming the case by assembling the wall units together by means of the first and second metal beams, so that the first and second metal beams form a load-bearing structure only when the wall units have been assembled, and fixing the load-bearing structure of the case to the platform. With this method, the load-bearing structure of the display case is not formed by a frame to which the fixed and opening walls are then applied, but by the first and second metal beams, the former being already pre-glued to the glass panes of the fixed walls of the display case. This method makes the assembly of the display case easier and faster.
The museum showcase includes a base, a horizontal guide system placed along a sliding direction, and a case mounted on the horizontal guide system; the case is divided into at least two modules and each module comprises two vertical side walls connected to an upper horizontal top panel and to a lower horizontal bottom; each module is mounted on the horizontal guide system to slide in direction (A); the modules each comprise two end modules and each end module includes a vertical end wall, the vertical end walls being connected to the vertical side walls, to the top panel and to the bottom in the respective module (21). Bell-type museum showcase, having pantograph lifting mechanisms
This showcase for the preservation and display of objects in a protected environment, comprises a bell, a base and pantograph mechanisms housed in lateral end regions of the base and formed by arms, pairs of arms and lower arms, the latter with a curvilinear configuration. The pantograph mechanisms are actuated by actuation systems housed at the bottom of the lateral end regions of the base. The showcase ensures an easier recovery of the space otherwise occupied by the actuation systems and at the same time an appropriate opening of the showcase.
This showcase for conserving and displaying objects in a protected environment comprises a case, fixed walls, an openable wall and a gasket housed in a seat formed in part in the fixed walls and in part in the openable wall, open towards the interior of the showcase. The showcase ensures better security, since the gasket cannot be reached from the outside (unless the showcase is open) and therefore any possibility of tampering is avoided.
The showcase has a hinge comprising a fixed element, associated with the container body, a mobile element, intended to be associated with the door, and a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod hinged between the fixed element and the mobile element, so as to obtain an articulated quadrilateral adapted for causing a roto-translation of the fixed element with respect to the mobile element between an open position and a closed position of the hinge. The hinge also comprises a hook, associated with one from the fixed element and the mobile element and adapted for cooperating in a releasable manner with engagement means associated with the other from the fixed element and the mobile element, so as to counteract the movement of the mobile element away from the fixed element when the hinge is in closed position.
This museum showcase comprises a bearing frame and fixed and/or openable walls supported by the bearing frame. The bearing frame comprises a platform that includes joints connected to horizontal beams. The fixed and/or openable walls of the showcase are supported only by the joints. The weight of the walls is supported by the joints, whereas the horizontal beams are not subjected to significant stresses. It is thus possible to design the showcase in a particularly simple and therefore quick manner, choosing the lengths of each beam according to the dimensions of the showcase and leaving the support of the weights to just the joints.

The contact bands have two horizontal contact bands, one on the edge of the side wall, the other on the edge of the upper wall, and extending between an inner bound and an outer bound, wherein the outer bound is internal with respect to the outer face of the side wall. The upper wall rests horizontally on the side wall and the weight of the upper wall weighs directly on the side wall, without stressing the adhesive with which they are glued, ensuring the safety of the showcase; furthermore, the junction line between the walls is not visible on the side wall, since the outer bound of the contact bands does not reach the outer face of the side wall.
A showcase for preservation and display of objects. The showcase has a fixed casing and at least one openable panel made of glass, mounted through opening supports on the fixed casing, openable externally towards a first side of the showcase. The opening supports have an upper asymmetric quadrilateral and a lower asymmetric quadrilateral having the same geometry, respectively comprising a short upper rod and a long upper rod and a short lower rod and a long lower rod; the lengths of the short rods are equal to each other, as well as the lengths of the long rods are equal to each other. The opening takes place in a single roto-translation step. The asymmetric quadrilateral system formed by the uneven rods determines a roto-translational movement of the openable panel towards the first side of the showcase, so that the openable panel leaves the opening space completely free.
A showcase for preservation and display of objects is described. The showcase has a fixed casing and at least one openable panel made of glass mounted on the fixed casing through opening supports, which have a pair of upper rods and a pair of lower rods, all having the same length as each other, pivoted to the fixed casing at respective first upper and lower rod pins, and an intermediate structure, pivoted to the upper and lower rods at respective second upper and lower rod pins. A hinging system is provided along the main direction, between the openable panel and the intermediate structure, so as to allow the openable panel to rotate with respect to the intermediate structure. In this way, it is possible to open and close the openable door of the showcase by acting only from below, on the lower guide, without it being necessary to access the upper guide, which is moved by the movement of the lower guide thanks to the connection of the upper actuation means to the lower actuation means and/or to the lower guide.

At least the upper panel is made of glass, same case applying to an openable panel, which can be closed in a sealing fashion on the abutment framework. A lower opening support is fixed between the base and the openable panel, an upper opening support is fixed between the upper panel and the openable panel. The showcase comprises a seat formed in the upper panel, in proximity of the abutment framework and closed towards the outside of the box; in the seat the upper opening support is at least partially encased, in the direction of the thickness of the upper panel, thus being substantially invisible.

This airtight container comprises a main space (13) for housing the objects, an auxiliary space (14) for housing a hygroscopic material, a communication path (27,28,31,32,33) between the auxiliary space and the main space, and it is characterised in that it comprises means (17) for checking the hygroscopic functionality of the hygroscopic material (15) and means for adjusting (21,22,23) the hygroscopic functionality of the hygroscopic material. The normal operation of the container is that typical of a container with a passive system, but the control and the adjustment of the functionality of the hygroscopic material substantially improve its performance. Indeed, the hygroscopic functionality is kept under control, so as to always have the optimal protection for the objects conserved in the container.
