[PROBLEMS] To provide a locknut capable of preventing trouble due to an unexpected behavior such as reversal of a plate spring and exerting an effective loosening preventing effect by a simple structure. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] The locknut has a nut body (11) and an elastic member (21) provided on that opening end surface (16) of the nut body (11) that is on the opposite side of a seat surface (15) of the nut body (11). The elastic member (21) has a movable part (22) elastically deformed as the nut body (11) is screwed to a bolt and a fixed part (23) formed at the base end side of the movable part (22). The movable part (22) is disposed on the nut body (11), along the generally circumferential direction of the screw hole of the nut body, over the circumferential length of less than one turn of the circumference of the screw hole.
