The invention relates to an apparatus for manufacturing a meander tube, comprising: -a bending device (1) for bending a raw tube (2) being fed in to the bending device (1) alternately in opposite directions, -a feeding device for feeding the raw tube (2) in to the bending device (1), -a cutting device for cutting the raw tube (2) after the raw tube for a single meander tube has been bent, and in which apparatus the bending device (1) comprises a first bending roll (9) and a second bending roll (10) between which the raw tube (2) can be fed and which bending rolls (9, 10) have been arranged with respect to each other such that at least part of the outer surface of the raw tube (2) touches both of the bending rolls (9, 10) when the raw tube is disposed between the bending rolls (9, 10) and by moving of which with respect to each other the raw tube (2) is bendable in to a meander tube form. In the apparatus according to invention the bending device (1) comprises a main shaft (12) with respect of which the bending rolls (9, 10) are rotatable and which has; a) a first position wherein the second bending (10) roll is rotatable an amount of an angle along radial path around the first bending roll (9) whereupon the raw tube (2) being between the bending rolls (9, 10) bends against outer surface of the first bending roll (10) such that the said rotation of the second bending roll (10) causes that the raw tube (2) is formed in to a curved shape of a first direction, and b) a second position wherein the first bending roll (9) is rotatable an amount of an angle along a radial path around the second bending roll (10) such that the raw tube (2) being between the bending rolls (9, 10) bends against outer surface of the second bending roll (10) whereupon said rotation of the first bending roll (9) causes that the raw tube (2) is formed in to a curved shape of a second direction being opposite to the said first direction. The invention relates also to a method for manufacturing a meander tube from raw tube.
