The invention relates to a valve opening system for excavator shovels, in which the shovel-forming valves (3-3') are joined to the lower end of a base body (1) and can be opened and closed using connecting rods (4-4') that connect the valves with a carriage (5) that can be moved vertically inside the base body (1). According to the invention, the traditional carriage (5) suspension cable is replaced by two strands (8.8') which extend between an opening triangle (9) and the base body (1) and pass through respective pulleys (10-10') mounted on the carriage (5). In this way, the longitudinal movement of the strands (8.8') is twice the vertical movement of the carriage (5) and so the same force applied to the triangle (9) will result in double the opening force on the valves (3-3').
