Abrégé

Provided is a bill counter which comprises object detection sensors on the left and right sides of a hopper part such that the sensors can sense the direction from which the bill is placed on the bill counter and can separately store the counted results according to a moving direction on which the bill is placed, thereby enabling one bill counter to be handled by two operators. The bill counter of the present invention comprises the object detection sensors on the left side and the right side of the hopper part, respectively. The bill counter determines which user is using the bill counter depending on which object detection sensor senses the bill that is placed on the hopper part, and processes the counted results with respect to the corresponding user. According to the present invention, two users can share one bill counter without having to press a separate button for showing which user is using the bill counter.
