The invention relates to an exercise apparatus for practicing beam gymnastics, which apparatus comprises a base board (2) and, arranged at a vertical distance over the latter, an exercise board (1), wherein the connection between base board (2) and exercise board (1) runs via at least one damping element (3), which damps relative movement between exercise board (1) and base board (2). Base plate (2) and exercise board (1) are connected to each other via a hinge-like part (5), which permits vertical relative movement between these two boards but prevents rotational relative movement about axes lying parallel to the longitudinal direction of the exercise board (1).
