The invention relates to a method and to a device for grinding watch glasses (22) having a toric crown that has two continuously merging radii of curvature. In the method according to the invention, the two different or equal curvatures are created in that the glass to be ground is fastened to a cylindrical outer surface (20) or inner surface (20') of a rotating drum (18) and processed by a grinding disc (16, 16'), the effective grinding surface (26) thereof being cambered either concave or convex. A crown is ground to the watch glasses, the first curvature radius (R1) thereof being that on the grinding disc and the second curvature radius (R2) being the radius of the (cylindrical) surface (20, 20') to which the glasses (22) are attached on the drum (18).
