The invention relates to a powder-actuated tool (1), provided with a tubular body (11) configured for receiving an energy propellant (20) in a propellant-holding tube (12) in which a fastening element (40) and a propellant cartridge (30) are positioned, said propellant holder (12) being slidably mounted in said tubular body (11), the tubular body of the tool receiving a spall guard (60) at the front end thereof and a firing pin (80) actuated by a trigger (70) at the rear end thereof, characterized in that it comprises first safety means (13; 113) for blocking the movement of the propellant holder (12) towards the firing pin (80) while said first safety means are engaged, and in that it further comprises second safety means (50) for retaining a safe distance between the firing pin (80) and the cartridge (30) even when the first safety means are disengaged.
