The invention relates to a reduced-diameter cylindrical diaphragm assembly for hydraulic dampers with a seal a both ends, of the type used in self-closing mechanisms in furniture, wherein the cylindrical body of the damper (8) is sealed at the external end and the damper shaft (9) is sealed at the internal end, said cylindrical diaphragm assembly (1) being a fluid compensation chamber (13) on the external side and being an air chamber (14) on the other, internal side, and comprising an insertable elastic cap (2) whose internal end (5) has an annular reduction in diameter, thereby creating a flat support area (6) and terminating in an easy-joining frustoconical protrusion (7) in contact with the damper shaft (9), and also comprising a tubular, internal male centring part (3) provided with a frustoconical head (10) at the internal end, said head having a flat wall (11) for external support and for securing said insertable elastic cap (2), wherein said tubular, internal male centring part (3) has longitudinal wings (12) and said tubular, internal male centring part (3) terminates in a closing-cover-type protrusion (15) which, together with the external end (16) of the insertable elastic cap (2), produces a simple join with the cylindrical body of the damper (8).
