The present invention relates to a tree root cutter which substantially increases the cutting force of a saw blade for cutting roots buried in the ground in order to fundamentally avert damage to crops, and which allows cutting chips generated in the process of cutting with the saw blade to be easily removed when lodging in gaps in the main body of the cutter. More specifically, the present invention is a tree root cutter having a main cutting body (100) itself having: a cover on the inside of which is provided a drive device and projecting on one side of which there is the rotational shaft of the drive device; a saw blade which is connected to and rotates with the rotational shaft; a support provided in an upward direction in the centre of the upper part of the cover; a step-on part which can be pressed by foot on the upper part of the cover; and a securing rod which is provided so as to be able to slide vertically at a side surface of the cover, wherein the tree root cutter comprises: a cutting guide member which is positioned between the saw blade and cover, is provided so as to rotate freely on the outer circumferential surface of the rotational shaft of the drive device, and is fastened to one side of the cover; and the cutting guide member comprises a cutting blade part closely attached to a portion in the direction of rotational advance of the saw blade in such a way as to facilitate cutting, and a movable block which can easily remove cutting chips lodged between the sawblade and the cover.
