The present invention relates to a gas safety management system using wireless communication in a building, and particularly, to a gas safety management system capable of preventing accidents caused by a gas leak or reducing the scope of damage from an accident caused by a gas leak, by implementing a wired/wireless sensor network, centered around a home-network device, in a building, and turning off gas or activating an automatic fire extinguisher when there are indications of abnormalities such as a fire or leakage of gas. The gas safety management system of the present invention comprises: a fire detection sensor node provided with a wireless communication module to detect the presence of carbon monoxide, smoke, and the generation of smoke; a gas detection sensor node provided with a wireless communication module; a home network device for wirelessly receiving detection signals from the fire detection sensor node and the gas detection sensor node, analyzing the wirelessly received detection signals, and wirelessly transmitting, to a gas meter, a command signal for turning off the gas when the occurrence of an abnormality is determined from the analyzed results; and said gas meter for turning off gas according to the gas turn-off command signal wirelessly received from the home network device. Here, sensor nodes may be installed within a building. Also, the home network device is a so-called wall pad provided with a wireless communication module. Further, the gas meter may be a microcomputer meter provided with a wireless communication module.

The present invention relates to a management system for an underground municipal gas facility, and particularly, to a management system for an underground municipal gas facility, the system being configured with a sensor network in the underground municipal gas facility to enable the remote sensing of the conditions in the underground municipal gas facility in real time, thereby improving safety, rendering maintenance and management efficient, and preventing gas accidents from occurring and enabling a quick response in the event a gas accident does occur. The management system for an underground municipal gas facility of the present invention comprises: a sensor for outputting, to a transmitter, sensing data on sensed condition information of the underground municipal gas facility; said transmitter, which is installed in an underground area, for using a first protocol having a first frequency to transmit the sensing data input from the sensor to a converter installed in an above-ground structure; said converter for converting the data transmitted from the transmitter to a second protocol having a second frequency, and then transmitting the converted data to a collector; and said collector for transmitting the data transmitted from the converter to a remote server. Further, the management system may also comprise a repeater including at least one hop, for using the second protocol having the second frequency to relay and transfer the data transmitted from the converter to the collector.
