A webbing for use with a tiedown or sling which has overall increase strength efficiency when compared to known tiedowns or slings which use texturized yarn. The webbing contains non-texturized yarn material having reduced elongation characteristics in the core, combined with non-texturized yarn having higher elongation and improved wear characteristics on the exterior surfaces.

D07B 1/04 - Cordes faites de matériaux fibreux ou filamenteux, p. ex. d'origine végétale ou animale, de cellulose régénérée, de matière plastique avec une âme de fibres ou filaments disposés parallèlement à la ligne centrale
A hoist attachment which includes a base member; a positioning guide extending from the base member; a positioning member; and an endless sling. The endless sling extends from the base member and cooperates with the positioning guide, the positioning member and the hook member. The hoist attachment remains in position when lifting a load but is easily adjustable when no load is applied. The hoist attachment may be used with the forks of a forklift truck.
A woven webbing for use in a tiedown or sling for lifting, restraint or other material handling functions. The woven webbing includes a central portion and tubular edges. The central portion has a top surface and an oppositely facing bottom surface. The top surface and bottom surface may be woven in a first pattern for strength and abrasion resistance while remaining flexible. The tubular edges extend from either side of the central portion. The tubular edges may be woven in a second pattern to improve the cut resistance of the tubular edges. The tubular edges have interior cavities which may include twisted floating yarn extending therethrough to enhance the cut resistance of the tubular edges. The tubular edges may include a high modulus yarn material which changes the orientation of the yarn material away from the axial direction of tension when a load is applied to the webbing.
A woven webbing, for use in a tiedown or sling for lifting, restraint or other material handling functions, has a webbing width which extends from a first edge surface of the woven webbing to a second edge surface of the webbing. Visible out of service markers are woven in the woven webbing at designated distances from the edge surfaces. The out of service markers are visually distinct from woven webbing material of the woven webbing. The visible out of service markers serve as a tool for indicating when the amount of damage concentrated along the edge of the webbing has penetrated to a level such that the woven webbing needs to be taken out of service.
A flexible lifting member protection pad includes a cut protection area with strengthening stitching which cooperates with an inner ply and an outer ply to bind the inner ply and the outer ply together in the cut protection area, such that the inner ply, outer ply and strengthening stitching act and move as one piece to increase the combined cutting resistance of the cut protection area. The strengthening stitching is distributed or applied systematically across substantially the entire cut protection area. This configuration allows compression to be generated across the inner ply of the cut protection area when the protection pad is moved against the edge of the load, whereby the inner ply of the cut protection area resists being cut by the edge of the load.
An edge protector for insertion between a load to be lifted and a lifting member which facilitates the lifting of the load, preventing damage to either the load or the lifting member. The edge protector has a pair of flanges which extend from a radiused or curved center portion. Each flange has an inner surface and an outer surface. A portion of each respective outer surface of each flange is spaced from and is essentially parallel to the inner surface of the respective flange.

A synthetic roundsling which has an endless load-bearing core with a plurality of loops of synthetic fibers for use in harsh environments. A tubular cover is provided for loosely containing the load-bearing core so that the fibers in the core are movable relative to each other and to the cover. The cover is waterproof to prevent the core from absorbing liquid. The core is prevented from increasing in weight and decreasing in flexibility due to liquid being absorbed by the core, thereby insuring that the roundsling will stay light and flexible even in harsh environmental conditions. A second, outer cover may provide additional protection to the core to protect the core from physical damage.
