The intercepting device comprises a high liquid level end (1), and a low liquid level end (2), wherein the high liquid level end (1) is in communication with the low liquid level end (2) via conduits; the conduits are provided successively in a fluctuating manner and every fluctuation consists of a chamber with a lower end being separated and an upper end conducting; within the chamber are provided a front segment liquid column (3), a rear segment liquid column (4) and an air sealing segment (5) located in the upper portion of the chamber and separating the front segment liquid column (3) from the rear segment liquid column (4); and the height of the front segment liquid column (3) is greater than that of the rear segment liquid column (4). The intercepting device is applicable for the occasions where a conventional intercepting device is applicable, has the advantages of avoiding the problem in the prior art of needing to ensure sealing performance when intercepting, and is capable of adjusting the height, etc.
