Hopper structure, dehumidification plant and method for dehumidifying granular plastic material
A hopper for dehumidification of granular plastic material by a dehumidifying fluid includes a main body, having a top wall with an opening for the granular plastic material; at least one discharge opening for the dehumidifying fluid provided on the main body or the top wall, a tapered lower section with a discharge opening for the dehumidified granular plastic material, a fluid-sealed insert member delimiting an annular air space with the main body and the tapered lower section, and at least one dehumidifying fluid feed duct to the annular air space, the lower tapered section comprising at least one pair of walls to delimit at least one chamber that is outside the annular air space and in fluid communication therewith, the at least one chamber being feedable with dehumidifying fluid from the at least one feed duct oriented tangentially or parallel to an enclosing wall.
The present invention regards a hopper structure for containing and treating loose material, which includes a tubular section, upper in use, a lower tapered section equipped with a suitable discharge mouth, a support device for at least the upper tubular section, and a guide device designed to allow the lower section to move between a closed position against the upper section and an open position removed from the upper section.
Granular material is dehumidified by: a) providing a number of dry air generators inside hoppers containing granular material; b) for each dry air generator, evaluating the dry air flow generable and/or higher energy efficiency functioning time; c) calculating the dry air flow rate for each single hopper depending on the characteristics of the granular material; and d) activating a number of generators sufficient to deliver a total dry air flow rate equal to the sum of the flow rates required by the hoppers. The number of the generators and the generators to be activated are chosen depending on the flow rate deliverable by each and/or by their respective ranges of functioning at higher energy efficiency according to an energy saving logic. The remaining generators are deactivated.

DEHUMIDIFICATION METHOD OF MATERIALS IN GRANULAR FORM AND PLANT THEREOF
The present invention regards a method and a plant for the dehumidification of materials in granular form, particularly of plastic materials. The method comprises the following operating steps: a) providing a number of dry air generators inside hoppers containing granular material; b) for each dry air generator evaluating the dry air flow generable and/or higher energy efficiency functioning time; c) calculation of the dry air flow rate for each single hopper depending on the characteristics of the granular material; d) activation of a number of generators sufficient to deliver a total dry air flow rate equal to the sum of the flow rates required by the hoppers, the number of said generators and the generators to be activated being chosen depending on the flow rate deliverable by each and/or by their respective ranges of functioning at higher energy efficiency according to an energy saving logic; and e) deactivation of the remaining generators.
