Abstract

The invention relates to a methodology and means for using extensometric sensors, together with electronic devices and the post-processing of the signals and data obtained, in order to measure stresses on railway tracks and similar and to measure contact forces between the wheel of the vehicle or train and the actual track on which it is travelling. The method consists in: capturing micro-deformations at a known point on the track; analysing these micro-deformations; identifying the element corresponding to the signal peak of the micro-deformations coinciding with the passage of the train above one of the sleepers of the line; analysing the signals of the peaks of the micro-deformations previously identified; obtaining signals using sensors (5) disposed on plates (6) screwed to the track (6); and, finally, calibrating each detected micro-deformation peak and the relationship thereof with the values to be measured.
