Abstract

An arrangement for storage of a self-expanding stent-like device (3) includes a container (1) for storing the stent-like device (3) and a stent delivery system arranged at the container (1) and comprising an outer tube (6) and an inner shaft (4) axially moveable relative to the outer tube (6). The container (1) comprises an interior space (2) and one stent passage opening (20; 20'). A distal end (21) of the outer tube (6) is connected to the stent passage opening (20; 20'). An insertion part of ring-like shape is located at the stent passage opening (20; 20'). The inner shaft (4) extends through the insertion part and comprises a retainer (5) for preventing the stent-like device (3) from axial movement relative to the inner shaft (4). When the stent-like device (3) is stored in the interior space (2) of the container, a proximal end of the stent-like device is compressed to a diameter smaller than a diameter of the insertion part and is held radially compressed by the insertion part. The stent-like device (3) is safely stored inside the container (1) and can be prepared for implantation by continuous pulling of the inner shaft (4), which loads the stent-like device (3) into the outer tube (6) and detaches the delivery system from the container (1).

Abstract

The invention relates to an implant for implantation into a body. The implant comprises a surface that is provided for contact with the body or a body fluid when implanted and which surface has a first surface charge when in a first state. The surface assumes a second state having a second surface charge as a result of surface treatment, the second surface charge having a lower positive surface charge or a higher negative surface charge than the first surface charge. The implant is used for regulating an adsorption of proteins on the surface of the implant in terms of type, quantity and/or conformation of certain proteins by means of a defined second state of the surface, which has a defined second surface charge and/or a defined predetermined composition of an oxide layer of the surface.

Abstract

Disclosed are a method and a device for determining surface characteristics of a stent to be implanted in a lumen in a body, a wetting behavior of a stent surface being used as a measure for the surface characteristics of the stent surface. In order to determine the wetting behavior, a course of a wetting power along a length of the stent surface is determined, a wetting power between the stent surface and a liquid surface being detected along the length of the stent.

Abstract

The system according to the present disclosure includes a metal stent (3) as a medical implant for treating lesions in blood vessels and a packaging (1) having an inside volume, in which the stent (3) is arranged in a protected manner. The stent (3) has a plurality of webs (33), which produce a tubular shape with each other, and a proximal end (31) and a distal end (32), between which a stent lumen (34) extends. The stent surface (35) has a hydrophilic property. The molecular chemical impurities originating in the atmosphere, primarily hydrocarbon compounds, are significantly reduced on the surface by a treatment, whereby the contact angle as a measure of the hydrophilicity of a water drop present on the surface (35) is reduced in proportion to the contact angle prior to said treatment.
