Abstract

A transaction system and method is provided that ensures a high degree of non-repudiation. The transaction system may include a media conferencing terminal and a client computer on each end of the transaction. The system may be linked via a network such as the Internet so that transactions may be conducted between remote locations. The media conferencing terminal ensures that each party to the transaction may be satisfied as to the identity of the other parties. The method includes recording the pressure, speed and acceleration of annotations made to digital documents that are used for conducting transactions. The system is operable to store all media conferencing information, digital document information, and annotation information such that the information can be later recovered to reproduce the transaction, proving a high degree of non-repudiation.

Abstract

The present invention is an apparatus, system and computer program for generating documents that may be validated and authenticated. A handwriting system may be utilized to produce a replica of handwriting. Such handwriting system may be capable of generating a replica of handwriting that is biometrically accurate in accordance with a specific person's handwriting. The handwriting system may facilitate the integration of a replica of handwriting with one or more documents. The handwriting system may be linked to a printing output device whereby a replica of handwriting may be applied to a document printed by the printer. The handwriting system may incorporate a handwriting tool that may be integrated with the printer so that a replica of handwriting may be facilitated by the handwriting tool during the course of printing a document. Security may be incorporated in the integration of the printer and handwriting system whereby the integration of the handwriting and the document may be unalterable.

The system is operable to store all media conferencing information, digital document information, and annotation information such that the information can be later recovered to reproduce the transaction, proving a high degree of non-repudiation.

Abstract

The present invention provides an apparatus, system and computer program for scribing or otherwise controlling a tool to be applied to one or more objects. The apparatus comprises a pantograph for controlling the tool, the pantograph having a range of motion to accommodate different size objects. The system is operable to receive a data feed and control the tool on the basis of the data feed. The system preferably comprises a computer with a computer program including an algorithm for controlling tool contact and pressure and an algorithm for controlling the tool trajectory. The present invention is implemented as an improved realtime remote robotic writing system, having improved capabilities for writing on different media such as books of varying size and thicknesses.

Abstract

A system, method and computer program for enabling transactions on a remote basis is provided. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of: (1) providing a first computer at a location of a customer, and providing a second computer at a location of a financial institution, the first computer and the second computer being linked so as to provide a two-way audiovisual communication system; (2) providing an authentication request at the second computer and communicating the request to the first computer; (3) the customer reviewing the request and providing a signature or other writing as an input to an input device connected to the first computer; (5) transmitting the signature from the first computer to the second computer; (6) receiving the signature and providing the signature to a plotting device connected to the second computer; and (7) applying the signature to a transactional document, wherein the audiovisual information received by the second computer and the signature received by the second computer in combination provide a means of transaction authentication and non-repudiation.

Abstract

A computer system is provided for permitting interactions involving signature or dedication of one or more articles in a computer network environment that includes a first individual at a first location, and one or more second individuals at a second location. A first computer system and second computer system are at the first location and the second location respectively and are linked to another and also to an audio-visual communication system. The second computer system also includes a plotter device. The computer system creates an audio- visual communication session between the first individual and the one or more second individuals, and in connection with that communication session the first individual provides input to a digital writing pad representing a signature or dedication intended for the one or more articles. The input is transferred to the plotter device and initiated to apply a signature or dedication based on the input from the first individual.

Abstract

A system, method and computer program for enabling signings/dedications on a remote basis is provided. A first computer at a first location is associated with an individual from whom a signature or dedication is required. A second computer at a location where the signing or dedication is required is linked to the first computer so as to provide a two-way audiovisual communication system. The second computer is operable to receive input from one or more individuals regarding their request for a signature and/or dedication, and to communicate the request to the first computer. The first computer is operable to permit the individual associated with the first computer to review the request, and based on such request provide a signature and/or personalized dedication as an input to an input device connected to the first computer. The first computer transmits the signature and/or personalized dedication from the first computer to the second computer. The second computer is operable to receiving the signature and/or personalized dedication, and provide the signature and/or personalized dedication to a plotter device connected to the second computer. The plotter device is operable to apply the signature and/or personalized dedication introduced to the plotter device to an article, substantially in the handwriting of the individual associated with the first computer, based on the operation of the plotter device. A computer program for enabling the functions described is also provided. A related method is also disclosed.
