The invention comprises a planting machine and a method for planting seedlings, whereby the planting machine comprises a frame (13), to which are located: fastening devices (12) for connecting the planting machine to a controllable articulated boom of a working machine; tilling devices (14) for forming a planting hole by means of a rotating tilling blade (18); planting devices (17), which are arranged to guide and place seedlings to the planting hole one by one by means of a planting tube (42), and at least one seedling storage (21 ), to which several seedlings can be placed and which are arranged to feed seedlings to the planting devices (17). According to an example the tilling devices (14) comprise a ring (11) or a tilling head (45) rotatable around a rotation axis (X1, X3). According to an example the planting tube (42) moves through the ring (11). According to an example the planting devices comprise a feeding tube (41) for fertilizer.
