Abstract

A squeezable fiber-based bottle (10) for storing and dispensing a viscous liquid. The bottle comprises a pulp molded base (20) and fiber-based side walls (12). The pulp molded base includes a liquid containing surface (28) having an aperture (30) for dispensing viscous liquid and a base perimeter having a perimeter surface (22) with an upper edge (24) and a lower edge (26). A base barrier (40) is disposed on the liquid containing surface and the upper edge of the base perimeter. The fiber-based side wall has an upper edge (14), a lower edge (16), an inner surface (18), and an outer surface (19). The inner surface includes a fiber-based side wall barrier layer. The lower edge of the fiber-based side wall is attached to the pulp molded base forming an impermeable seal (42). The impermeable seal is formed about the entire perimeter surface of the pulp molded base near the perimeter surface upper edge but not the perimeter surface lower edge. The aperture for dispensing viscous fluid includes a separable slit valve disposed opposite the liquid containing surface. The separable slit valve is formed of plastic or other resin material.

Abstract

An arthropod trapping device having a housing including a base and a shade coupled to the base. The base includes a convex outward-facing wall and an opposing rear-facing wall, electrically conductive prongs, a circuit board, and a first and second LED electrically connected to the circuit board. The shade includes an outward-facing surface and a LED-facing surface. A first end region of the shade is adjacent to the outward-facing wall of the base such that the first end region of the shade overlaps at least a portion of the outward-facing wall of the base. The LED-facing surface that overlaps the base is spaced apart from the outward-facing wall of the base such that an opening is defined between the LED-facing surface of the shade and the outward-facing wall of the base. The opening extends from a first side edge of the base to a second side edge of the base.

The fiber-based side wall has an upper edge, a lower edge, an inner surface and an outer surface.

Abstract

A liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition includes from about 5% to about 50% by weight of the composition of a surfactant system. The surfactant system includes anionic surfactant and amphoteric co-surfactant. The amphoteric co-surfactant is selected from amine oxide surfactant, wherein the amine oxide surfactant has the formula: R1N(R2)(R3)O. R1 is a C8-C18 alkyl, and the R2 and R3 moieties are selected from C1-C3 alkyl groups, C1-3 hydroxyalkyl groups, and mixtures thereof. The composition further includes from about 0.1% to about 10% of a mid-chain 1,2-alkanediol, and the mid-chain alkyl chain of the 1,2-alkanediol includes from 6 to 14 carbon atoms.

Abstract

A tunable hair dye composition that includes a photochoromic dye, a cosmetically acceptable solvent and, optionally, a carrier. When activated with a suitable activating electromagnetic radiation, the photochromic dye molecule changes color, thereby imparting a temporary color change to the composition and hair to which it is applied. When deactivated, the photochromic dye is generally colorless. The color imparted by the photochromic dye can be tuned by adjusting the wavelength and/or fluence of the activating and/or deactivating electromagnetic radiation. Thus, a wide variety of different hair colors can be obtained from a single hair dye composition containing specific combinations of photochromic dyes.

Abstract

Absorbent articles comprising refastenably connected first and second belts. Longitudinally opposing end regions of the chassis are connected with the first and second belts, and a portion of the chassis that overlaps the first belt defines a chassis overlap region. The chassis overlap region comprises an attachment area where adhesive is positioned between the chassis and the wearer facing surface of the first belt. The attachment area comprises a first attachment zone adjacent to an inner laterally extending edge of the first belt and a second attachment zone longitudinally outboard of the first attachment zone. The first attachment zone has a first lateral width and the second attachment zone has a second lateral width. The first lateral width is less than the second lateral width. The first belt also comprises a first lower elastic zone having a tensile force of from 0.10 N to 1.20 N.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to bonding a first substrate together a second substrate with adhesives that are substantially tackifier free. A layer of substantially tackifier free adhesive may be applied to a first surface of the second substrate to define an adherence zone, and the first substrate is positioned on the adherence zone of the second substrate to form a laminate. The first and second substrates are pressed against each other in the adherence zone to force the substantially tackifier free adhesive to penetrate into the first and second substrates. A first portion of the layer of the adhesive penetrates into the first substrate and a second portion of the layer of the adhesive penetrates into the second substrate. A central portion of the layer of the adhesive between the first and second portions separates the second surface of the first substrate from the first surface of the second substrate.

Abstract

A box with a sidewall structure, a reversible lid with top and flanks, and a lock. At least a portion of the flanks covers at least a portion of the sidewall structure when the box is locked. The lock has an active actuator (203) moveable from a locking to an opening position by applying pressure. The active actuator is connected to the portion of the sidewall structure and abuts against a locking tab (204) of the lid when in the locking position. The flanks comprise an actuation area (240) to displace the active actuator by applying the pressure. The box comprises a passive actuator (231) paired to the active actuator. The paired actuators are 180 degrees from each other around the central axis. The passive actuator is inactivated by an inactivation configuration of the lid located at 180 degrees from the locking tab around the central axis.

Abstract

Examples include a box with a sidewall structure, a reversible lid with top and flanks, and a lock. At least a portion of the flanks covers at least a portion of the sidewall structure when the box is locked. The lock has an active actuator moveable from a locking to an opening position by applying pressure. The active actuator is connected to the portion of the sidewall structure and abuts against a locking tab of the lid when in the locking position. The flanks comprise an actuation area to displace the active actuator by applying the pressure. The box comprises a passive actuator paired to the active actuator. The paired actuators are 180 degrees from each other around the central axis. The passive actuator is inactivated by an inactivation configuration of the lid located at 180 degrees from the locking tab around the central axis.

Abstract

A method for perforating a web with a perforating apparatus includes: rotating a cylinder about a longitudinal cylinder axis, wherein the cylinder comprises at least one shaped blade; operatively engaging a moveable support with the cylinder; positioning an anvil disposed on the support so as to cooperate in contacting relationship with the shaped blade, wherein at least one of the blade and the anvil comprise a plurality of teeth, and wherein adjacent teeth are separated by a recessed portion; feeding a web between the cylinder and the support; and perforating the web as the anvil cooperates in contacting relationship with the shaped blade disposed on the rotating cylinder.

Abstract

A method for using an oral care composition includes dispensing the oral care composition through a nozzle to form a dispensed composition. The nozzle includes an orifice having a central axis and an orifice diameter, and fins partially occluding the orifice. The method also includes brushing teeth with the dispensed composition to form a slurry. The dispensed composition has a faster ion release during brushing compared to a control dispensed composition made by dispensing the oral care composition through a control nozzle comprising an unobstructed, circular orifice having the orifice diameter.
