Abstract
A grain processing system can include a stripper portion (110), a thresher portion (200), or a winnower portion (300). The stripper portion (110) can use a coordinated roller assembly to receive a grain panicle (101) or stalk via an in-feed hole (120). The stripper portion (110) can separate the seed from the stalk of the received panicle. The thresher portion (200) can include a compliant paddle (207) and screen (205) to separate the seed from the chaff. The winnower portion (300) can include a feeder (301), an aspirator (302), and a separator (303). The feeder (301) can introduce a metered mixture of seeds and chaff into the separator (303). The aspirator (302) can be used to direct an airflow into the separator (303). The airflow and the orientation of the separator (303) can be adjusted to optimize separation of the seeds and chaff. The grain processing system can be manually operated, such as using one or more crank arms (112, 209, 316).
