Systems and Methods to Precisely Control Output Pressure in Buffered Sprayers (DuO1)
A liquid dispensing device includes a dispensing head, an outlet valve and a nozzle. The dispensing head includes an inlet valve, a piston and a piston chamber, an actuator for controlling the piston, and a buffer or bladder. The outlet valve has a defined minimum opening pressure and is in direct fluid communication with either the buffer or bladder, or both the buffer or bladder and the piston chamber. The nozzle, with a defined throughput, is in fluid communication with the outlet valve. A volume of the piston chamber, a volume of the buffer, a pressure response of the buffer, the throughput of the nozzle, and the minimum opening pressure of the outlet valve are together arranged to restrict the outlet pressures of liquid droplets exiting the nozzle within a defined range of from (P−ΔP) to (P+ΔP), where P is a nominal pressure and ΔP a maximum pressure variation.

SPRAYER DEVICE WITH AEROSOL FUNCTIONALITY -FLAIROSOL
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, Flair® based aerosol-type devices can be provided. Such, devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Such a dispensing device has a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring. The device further has a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a reservoir and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates the trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve. In a dispensing head a valve is provided to regulate the strength of the flow and preclude leakage. Once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, it can be dispensed by a user opening an activation valve, such as by pressing on an activation button, and spray can be abruptly stopped by a user ceasing to push on such button. Or, for example, in alternate embodiments without an activation button, once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, continuous spray occurs until the pressure chamber is emptied. By repeatedly pumping the trigger before the pressure chamber is fully emptied, continuous spray can be achieved. By designing the input volume to be amply greater than the volume of the pressure chamber, continuous spray with fewer pumping strokes can be implemented.

In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, various novel dispensing devices can be provided. Such devices can involve a range of sprayer heads and sprayer/foamer systems incorporating such heads. Novel sprayer/foamer heads can include buffers of various types. By using a buffer, a user need not continually be pumping the device in order for the device to be spraying or foaming. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, such a buffer can be spring loaded, spring loaded combination, elastomeric or gas. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the buffer can be in line or adjacent to a piston chamber. If adjacent, it can be connected to the piston chamber with a one way valve, to provide for spray after a downstroke of the piston has been completed, or without, to allow spraying to cease once a user releases the trigger or other actuator. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, such novel sprayers and foamers can be mounted upside down, in various “Flairomop” devices, used to clean floors or the like. When using a buffer, a piston chamber can be designed to deliver greater amount of liquid per unit time than can be possibly dispensed through the nozzle or nozzles. The fraction of liquid that cannot be sent through the nozzle(s), due to their inherent restriction, can thus be sent to the buffer for dispensing after the piston downstroke has been completed. A volume of the piston chamber, a volume of the buffer, a pressure response of the buffer, the throughput of the nozzle, and the minimum opening pressure of the outlet valve can be arranged to restrict the outlet pressures of liquid droplets exiting the nozzle within a defined range.

Dispensing devices are provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol-like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. An example dispensing device has, for example, a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring. The device further has a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a container and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates a trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve. Liquid exiting the piston chamber under pressure enters a central vertical channel which is in fluid communication with both the pressure chamber and a dome valve, with pre-defined opening pressure, provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head.

Sprayer device with aerosol functionality—flairosol
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, Flair® based aerosol-type devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid.

A preform can be made from two different materials that do not bond together by a bi-injection process, using the same mold. First an outer preform can be fashioned first, then an inner preform molded through a center hole in the outer preform, and the preforms connected. Inner/outer preform materials can be different, e.g., PET/polyolefin or polyamide, or the same, e.g., PET/PET. To prevent mutual bonding during molding of the second, a non-stick coating can be sprayed on a surface portion of the first preform prior to molding, the second. Manufacturing order can be either outer/inner, or inner/outer, and the non-stick coating sprayed on the inside/outside of the perform first molded.

Metered and active sprayer devices with aerosol functionality (“Flairosol II”)
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, “Flairosol” dispensing devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol-like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Such a dispensing device has, for example, a main body comprising a pressure chamber, the latter being provided with a pressure piston and a pressure spring. The device further has a piston and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a container, for example, the inner container of a Flair® bottle, and fills the pressure chamber with that liquid as a user operates a trigger in various compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both an inlet valve and an outlet valve, which serve to prevent backflow. Liquid exiting the piston chamber under pressure (supplied by, a user pumping the trigger) enters a central vertical channel which is in fluid communication with both the pressure chamber (above the pressure piston) and a dome valve provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head. The dome valve has a preset pressure, such that once exceeded by the liquid, opens and allows for a spray. If the liquid pressure drops below such preset pressure, the dome valve closes off the outlet channel, which serves to regulate the strength of the flow and preclude leakage. Alternatively, in an activated embodiment, for example, once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, it can be dispensed by a user allowing the dome valve to open by pressing on an activation button that removes a dome lock.

B65D 83/62 - Containers for dispensing liquid or semi-liquid contents by internal gaseous pressure, i.e. aerosol containers comprising propellant with contents and propellant separated by membranes, bags or the like
In embodiments, aerosol-type devices are provided. The devices have a main body comprising a pressure chamber, with pressure piston and pressure spring, and a piston chamber which draws liquid from a reservoir and fills the pressure chamber as a user performs compression and release strokes. The piston chamber has both inlet and outlet valves. In a dispensing head a valve is provided to regulate the flow strength and preclude leakage. Once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, it is dispensed by a user opening an activation valve, and spray can be abruptly stopped by closing the activation valve. In alternate embodiments, without an activation valve, once the liquid is pressurized, continuous spray occurs until the pressure chamber is fully emptied. Pumping the trigger before the pressure chamber is fully emptied achieves continuous spray. When the input volume is greater than the volume of the pressure chamber volume, continuous spray with fewer pumping strokes occurs.

Dispensing devices can include buffers. This obviates the need for continually pumping the device to dispense spray or foam. A buffer can be spring loaded, spring loaded combination, elastomeric or gas, and can be in line or adjacent to a piston chamber. Such sprayers and foamers can be mounted upside down. With a buffer, a piston chamber can deliver a greater amount of liquid per unit time than can be dispensed through the nozzle(s). The fraction of liquid that cannot be dispensed can be sent to the buffer for dispensing after the piston downstroke has completed. Volume of the piston chamber and buffer, pressure response of the buffer, throughput of the nozzle, and the minimum opening pressure of the outlet valve can be arranged to restrict the outlet pressures of liquid droplets exiting the nozzle within a defined range.

A47L 11/40 - Parts or details of machines not provided for in groups , or not restricted to one of these groups, e.g. handles, arrangements of switches, skirts, buffers or levers
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, such novel sprayers and foamers can be mounted upside down, in various "Flairomop" devices, used to clean floors or the like.

METERED AND ACTIVE SPRAYER DEVICES WITH AEROSOL FUNCTIONALITY ("FLAIROSOL II")
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, "Flairosol" dispensing devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre- compression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Liquid exiting the piston chamber under pressure (supplied by a user's pumping the trigger) enters a central vertical channel which is in fluid communication with both the pressure chamber (above the pressure piston) and a dome valve provided near the outlet channel at the top of the dispensing head. The dome valve has a preset pressure, such that once exceeded by the liquid, opens and allows for a spray. If the liquid pressure drops below such preset pressure the dome valve closes off the outlet channel, which serves to regulate the strength of the flow and preclude leakage. Alternatively, in an activated embodiment, for example, once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, it can be dispensed by a user allowing the dome valve to open by pressing on an activation button that removes a dome lock.

ISOLATION OF PRODUCT AND PROPELLANT IN AVARIOUS DISPENSING DEVICES AND PLATFORMS ("FLAIRFRESH")
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention platforms from which various dispensing devices, both manually operated as well as "touch-less" (motion sensor based) are presented. Such exemplary devices incorporate two main components: (i) the "bag within a bag" Flair® technology, and (ii) a OnePak type dispensing head (with a normally closed outlet valve). Such platforms can be, for example, overpressure based or underpressure based, can have various application based features, and can interface with various exemplary Flair type bottles. Exemplary embodiments described herein relate to dispensing systems where (i) the fluid or other dispensate to be dispensed, and (ii) the propellant used to dispense it, whether said propellant is a fluid, a gas, air at atmospheric pressure, or other, are completely separated in separate circuits, controlled separately, and only optionally mixed at the final dispensing time, if desired, at a point downstream of the normally closed outlet valve. Additionally, in such devices the propellant can be used for other ancillary functions, such as, for example, cleaning a spout or output channel, making foam or spray, controlling valves, pistons, pumps, making noise, and the like. Certain of such exemplary systems utilize a unique bottle in the dispensing appliance which (i) cannot be replaced by a competitor's, or other third party's bottle which also (ii) cannot be refilled by a consumer.
A preform can be made from two different materials that do not bond together by a bi-injection process, using the same mold. First an outer preform can be fashioned, then an inner preform molded through a center hole in the bottom of the outer preform, and the preforms connected. Inner/outer preform materials can be different, e.g., PET/polyolefin or polyamide, or same, e.g., PET/PET. To prevent mutual bonding during molding of the second, a non-stick coating can be sprayed on a surface portion of the first preform prior to molding the second. Manufacturing order can be either outer/inner, or inner/outer, and the non-stick coating sprayed on the inside/outside of the preform first molded.
Improved pre-forms for Flair and Flair-type applications are presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, if two different materials which do not bond together are used to make a pre-form, then such a pre-form can be made by a bi- injection process, using the same mold. In such exemplary embodiments, first the outer pre-form can be fashioned, and then the inner pre-form can be molded through a center hole provided at the bottom of the outer pre-form. The two pre-forms are then connected to each other. The two materials can be different, such as PET and a polyolefin or polyamide, or for example, they can even be the same, such as PET/PET, if steps are taken to prevent their bonding during the molding of the second pre-form layer. In such a process, a non-stick coating can be sprayed on the surface that will be between the pre-forms, where the second perform will touch the first one, and after such application, the second container can be molded, also in a 2C process. The order of manufacture can be either outer then inner, or inner then outer, in various exemplary embodiments. If outer then inner, the non-stick coating can be sprayed on the inside of the first molded outer perform, followed by molding of the inner prefrom. If the reverse, the non-stick coating is sprayed on the outside of the first molded inner perform, then followed by the molding of the outer perform. The material from which the inner container is made, the degree of shrinkage it will experience relative to the outer container, and the concomitant maximum hot fill temperature it can thus support, can all be designed for a given application, use or range of uses.
A liquid spraying device offers both a spraying and a foaming configuration, where a user can switch between them by a quarter turn of an outer nozzle. A woven screen can be welded to the inner surface of the outer nozzle. By turning the outer nozzle a quarter turn a user can move the outer nozzle forward of the inner nozzle, and thus switch between spraying and foaming configurations. In the foaming configuration, as the outer nozzle is turned outward, it is displaced by a given distance from the inner nozzle. This insures that the spray leaving the inner nozzle will fall upon the screen, thus creating foam. In a spraying configuration the liquid stream leaving the inner nozzle goes through a hole in the center of the screen and thus no foam is created.

FLAIR SPRAYERS AND ISOLATION OF PRODUCT AND VENTING/PROPELLANT IN DISPENSING DEVICES
Various liquid dispensing devices are presented based on Flair® technology. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, a "Flair Sprayer" can be provided with no dip tube, and be capable of use in any orientation, including upside down. Because of its valving system, in which the product delivery circuit is a closed system, such a Flair Sprayer can pump out any air or other gas in a headspace of a bottle, and the product/liquid always reaches the pump intake, even with no dip tube. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention a dispensing device can have separate product and re-venting/propellant circuits, isolated one from the other, allowing for longer life and freshness of the product. In such exemplary embodiments displacement media can be used for various ancillary functions, all the while remaining isolated from the product, and the dispensing of the product can be adeptly controlled by pressure differentials.
A liquid dispensing device is presented. The device has a main body and a dispensing head. The main body includes a pressure chamber, a pressure spring and a pressure piston, and the dispensing head includes a piston and a piston chamber, a channel in fluid communication with the pressure chamber, an inlet valve provided between said channel and said piston chamber, an outlet valve, an outlet channel, and an outlet valve lock.

SPRAYER DEVICE WITH AEROSOL FUNCTIONALITY ("FLAIROSOL")
In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, Flair® based aerosol-type devices can be provided. Such devices utilize a combination of Flair® technology, pre-compression valves and aerosol like pressurization of the dispensed liquid. Or, for example, in alternate embodiments without an activation button,, once the liquid is sufficiently pressurized, continuous spray occurs until the pressure chamber is emptied. By repeatedly pumping the trigger before the pressure chamber is fully emptied, continuous spray can be achieved. By designing the input volume to be amply greater than the volume of the pressure chamber, continuous spray with fewer pumping strokes can be implemented.
A spray nozzle device is provided with a housing, a first supply line for supplying a first medium, and a flow channel which guides the first medium to a nozzle of the housing. Also provided in the housing is a second supply line for supplying a second medium, wherein at least one of the first and second media is substantially liquid. Further provided are distributing bodies, or elements which cause mixing of the first and second media in various ways, having various possible structures and components. Such distributing bodies operate to feed the second medium into the flow stream as the first media flows through the flow channel, and to thereby cause a mixing of the first medium and second medium. Following such mixing, the mixed media are guided to an outlet nozzle or bore provided in the housing, and ejected out of the housing into the surrounding area.
A composite container, comprising a form-retaining outer container and a flexible inner container is presented. The inner container comprises a dispensing opening and can be mounted in a neck of the outer container, and the inner container is further connected to the outer container by an adhesive or weld connection over a portion of its periphery. The adhesive or weld connection can take the form of a ring adhesion or weld extending transversely to a central longitudinal axis of the container, or can cover the entire surface area of a defined portion of the respective inner container and outer container walls, such as, for example, the upper one-half of the container. The adhesion or weld can be substantially permanent, or alternatively, the adhesive or weld connection can be adapted to detach in controlled manner under the influence of pressures occurring in the container. Additionally, a method for manufacturing such a composite container is also presented, including forming a form-retaining outer container pre-form comprising a neck, forming a flexible inner container pre-form comprising a dispensing opening, inserting the inner container pre-form into the outer container pre-form and fixing said inner container pre-form to the neck of the outer-container pre-form.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRESSURE EQUALIZED DISPENSING OF A PRESSURIZED LIQUID IN A CONTAINER (FLAIR BEVERAGE VALVES)
A method for dosed dispensing of a pressurized liquid is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, the method includes dispensing a liquid in a container via a dispensing opening into a dispensing space, where a difference in pressure between the container and the dispensing space is equalized in stages by using an intermediate dosing chamber. First the pressure is equalized between the container and the dosing chamber, then a quantity of the liquid is dispensed from the container into the dosing chamber, maintaining the pressure equivalence between the container and the dosing chamber by pressure communication between them. Next the dosing chamber is isolated both gaseously and liquidly from the container. In a second stage the pressure is equalized between the dosing chamber and the dispensing space, and the quantity of liquid in the dosing chamber is dispensed into the dispensing space as the pressure between the dosing chamber and the dispensing space is maintained equal. The method further includes providing the liquid in a first inner container of the container, and introducing a pressure equalizing medium into a second inner container, where the first and second inner containers adjoin each other at least with a deformable and/or displaceable side. The invention also relates to a dispensing device arranged to perform, inter alia, the disclosed method. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention a dispensing device can comprise a self-contained carbonated beverage dispenser that can be stored in a consumer's refrigerator, or can, for example, be self cooling.
A device for dispensing a medium from a container is presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, an exemplary container (2) has at least one feed opening (10) connectable to the container by means of coupling means (8), a dispensing conduit (12) manufactured from substantially flexibly deformable material, and a closing means (18) for a substantially air-tight closing of the dispensing conduit therewith. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention methods for the manufacture of such exemplary dispensing devices can include injection molding the coupling means and the dispensing conduit as a perform, and stretching, blowing or any combination of stretching and blowing a portion of the preform so as to obtain a substantially flexibly deformable, thin-walled dispensing conduit. Alternatively, for example, the coupling means (8) and the dispensing conduit (12) can be separately generated, and later unified or joined.
At least one embodiment of the invention relates to a container for a product for dispensing, including a relatively stiff outer container having at least one dispensing opening, and a deformable inner container to be filled with the product which is accommodated in the outer container and which likewise has a dispensing opening. The inner container is connected to the outer container both in the vicinity of the dispensing opening and at least at one location remote therefrom. The connection is formed in that the outer container has an opening through which protrudes at least one fixing element connected to the inner container. This fixing element is pin-like and has an end part of which the dimensions are larger than those of the opening. At least one embodiment of the invention further relates to a method for manufacturing such a container.
