The invention relates to a reactor for obtaining gas from organic waste, comprising a column-shaped reactor housing, which is oriented upright and which surrounds a reaction chamber, which reaction chamber has a segment that can be filled with the organic waste, said segment being referred to as a collecting chamber, and which reaction chamber has a gas chamber above the collecting chamber, which gas chamber holds gas obtained from the organic waste, and wherein the reaction chamber is thermally insulated externally, toward the surrounding atmosphere. According to the invention a cleaning chamber adjoins the reaction chamber in the upward direction, wherein the interior space of the cleaning chamber adjoins a cooling surface, and a gas outlet line leading the obtained gas out of the reactor leads into the cleaning chamber.

PLANT FOR THE THERMAL RECOVERY OF ORGANIC MATERIAL, AND CLEANING CONTAINER OF SUCH A PLANT
The invention relates to a plant for the thermal recovery of organic material, comprising a container designated as a reactor which has a heatable reaction chamber for receiving the material to be recovered, and which has an outlet line for a gaseous reaction product. The plant also includes a cleaning container for the gas produced in the reactor, wherein the cleaning container has an inlet through which the gas flows into the cleaning chamber. Downstream of the inlet a baffle plate is disposed in such a way that the gas flowing into the cleaning container flows against the baffle plate. The cleaning container has a volume which can be varied by means of a movable wall, and the cleaning container has an outlet through which the gas flows out of the cleaning container. According to the invention, the baffle plate has a cavity through which a cooling fluid flows.
