Abstract

The invention relates to methods for the detonation combustion of fuel mixtures and to apparatuses for carrying out same, and can be used in aircraft engines and vehicle engines, in stationary power plants, and in the chemical industry. Pre-turbulized air is additionally fed into a combustion chamber, downstream of the front of the detonation wave prior to the exit of products from the chamber. The apparatus comprises a means for the additional supply of air, said means, in turn, comprising turbulizing means. The means for the additional supply of said turbulized air is located in the wall (walls) of the detonation chamber downstream of that part of the chamber where complete detonation combustion of the fuel mixture is effected, but prior to the exit from the chamber. The invention will make it possible to extend the functional possibilities, to increase the efficiency of the method for the detonation combustion of fuel, and to increase the technological effectiveness and efficiency and also reduce the overall dimensions of the combustion chamber.

Abstract

The invention relates to methods for detonation burning of fuel mixtures and to apparatuses for carrying out same, and can be used in aircraft engines and vehicle engines, in stationary power-generating plants, and in the chemical industry. The conversion of a coolant flow is managed by means of passage of said coolant flow into a combustion chamber through a profiled annular slot which carries out the function of a gas-dynamic valve and is in the form of a profiled annular slot with a smooth inlet and with sharp edges at the outlet towards the combustion chamber. The invention makes it possible to extend the functional possibilities of the method and apparatus, to increase the efficiency of the method for detonation burning of fuel, and to increase the technological effectiveness and economic efficiency of said method and apparatus.
